“A true Irish pub in downtown Newport Beach, right along PCH.... The bartender Jo, is straight outta Ireland (Northen Ireland I tinks... ;) She pours the perfect pint of Guinness and keeps the pub running smoothly.... Good vibes, chill atmosphere to have some pints and watch sports (if that's your thang') Great prices, especially for being in Newport... Parking is easy along PCH, or there's parking in the back also... Always a mandatory stop on our coastal pub crawls... Slainte mo'fos...Drink up.... Slan...“
“Wow! ? Don’t be fooled by the fact it’s in a strip mall. (Also - that means you’re not hunting for parking!) As the exterior hints, this place is intentionally crafted to be aesthetically pleasing, welcoming, cool-casual & family friendly. I was visiting for work & didn’t get a chance to try the food, but it looked amazing! Lots of options & I’d come back to try them if I’m the area. Tried their flagship beer ? & it was crisp, balanced, refreshing & delicious ?“
“I've frequented Classic Q numerous times, and it never fails to impress as a premier spot to catch the big games. However, what truly sets this place apart is the exceptional service. Our server, Bailey, embodies everything you'd want in a server: friendly, kind, and incredibly attentive. If you have the chance to visit, I highly recommend requesting to be seated in her section for a flawless experience.“
“Love this islands so much. Service was great, per usual and Bartender Melissa suggested the new volcano burger and it was so good! Cooked perfectly, and the fries were so yummy. Also met new manager Marissa and she was so friendly. GM Chad must be running a tight ship! Would definitely suggest coming in for lunch or dinner !(:“
“We actually ended up in Newport Beach last minute. We were visiting Los Angeles and we had not been to the ocean yet we actually were about to leave and drive to Las Vegas. Newport Beach itself is absolutely incredible and I wish we spent more time here I would have loved to stay overnight. While we were here we needed to eat so we obviously came to cabo cantina that is located right by the ocean. The place is awesome it reminds me of a Mexican bar. They had all you can eat tacos as it was Tuesday and the deal is just incredible I ate so many tacos I was so full when we left. The food was incredible we had a couple nice drinks the staff was so friendly the atmosphere is really party friendly.“
“Sweet spot to grab a drink if your bike riding up the coast. Cool people strong drinks and great views. They have plenty of TVs for Sunday football and even Nascar. Plenty of places near by to order some food and sometimes they have a Taco truck . Best to ride a bike there because parking does get tight. Our goto when we are in the area, near the ferry also. They have 2 pool tables and a jukebox.“
“Long time divey bar in Balboa. I've been getting beers here for over 30 years now. Cold beer on tap with wine and full bar stock available. Years ago they served food but those days are long gone. Bring food in and eat it there with a drink from the bartender. If you want suggestions on what food is good and close by ask the bartender or one of the locals hanging out having a drink. Pizza Pete is literally next door for pizza by the slice or whole pie. Great Mex is about a block away for tacos. The Balboa market makes sandwiches to order that are solid as well. Darts, pool tables, and games. This is a bar, so no one under 21 is admitted. I saw one review that thought you could bring a baby in. Not sure why the reviewer would believe that was okay but it is clearly against the law. Enjoy the local ambiance, lots of long time Newport characters hang out here. If you're interested in fishing you should have no problem finding someone to talk fishing with.“
“Nice surf beach bar atmosphere. We were here last weekend to hang out for lunch and some brew. I love the fish n chips here, Got my girly girl a burger and fries. I got the Fish nChip meal with some beer. They have a big alcohol selection in the bar. I had to not drink a whole lot when i am the driver to drive home. Food is excellent here. Staff are cool. I will try and make this a go to place of mine.“
“Came in looking for some sort of breakfast before hitting a whale watching tour. A lot of the other local restaurants had more than a 30 minute wait. So I ordered their breakfast burrito which has eggs, cheese, bacon, hashbrowns and usually salsa but I had that taken off. It was very fulfilling. The type of hashbrowns. They used also included peppers and onions, which gave it a little bit of a flavor. Definitely worth the price.“
“I'm absolutely in love with this place! The layout is so unique - when you walk through the "front door," you're still outside; stairs take you down to an outdoor patio with a beautiful large tree in the center. There is a bar out there, though it's been closed whenever I've been, probably because I've never gone during the summer. Once you've reached the patio, to the right is the real front door Lol. Step inside & you'll see a casual typical pub to the right, down a couple more stairs, windows will be open to the patio with favorable weather. To the left of the main entrance is a cozy, mahogany, more formal dining area complete with a fireplace. This layout alone is enough to enjoy a drink or dessert, but the food I've had was delicious, too. I love the "Black Bush Stew," which is a delicious beef stew (generous chuncks) with a dollop of mashed potatoes, 2 lamb chops & a shot of Black Bush whiskey! It's no longer on the menu, but I last went in February & our server was amazing - friendly, funny, & accommodating - & had it made for me anyway! I haven't been on a night with live music, but that would be icing on the cake. Love this place!“
