R&D is another fabulous Hillstone establishment. It's fantastic. The night we went it was pretty busy. There's a small parking structure right outside with plenty of parking (it was nearly empty when we visited). Our server was lovely, but didn't know many details about the menu. Not as good as it used to be unfortunately but service is still top notch. Reservations is recommended since it gets very busy no matter the time of the day. For fashion island the price is reasonable.

booked a reservation on a busy night yet the service was still excellent! I asked for tartar sauce and spicy mayo and they delivered!! The french fries were so crispy, which I like. I ordered the chicken meatballs and spaghetti and it was delectable. My dad ordered the steak and asked for medium well but it was medium. However they had no problem of recooking the steak for him.
