“If there's anything I appreciate, it's when people are passionate about what they cook and what they do. Had the opportunity to meet the lovely and dynamic chef duo, Mandana and Patrick. You can tell their passion for cooking shines through into their food. The food is amazing! There are so many great flavors that complement each other very well. It is also a very great introduction to those who have never had Persian food before!

You can find Zood in the Atrium Court in Fashion Island. We ordered three options. We had the Saffron Chicken plate with a side of hummus and eggplant dip with tahini and garlic and roasted pepper and feta dressing dips. We also had the Blam (beef & Lamb) sandwich with cucumber, herb, yogurt creamy dressing and a side of kale and spinach borani. For our salad, we had the Pickled and Beet Barberry salad with olive oil lemon and mint and pistachio vinaigrette dressings. For drinks, we had the Sour Cherry and Sekanjebin soda. For dessert, we had the Chocolate Halva Cookie and the Baklava Soft Serve with pistachios, walnuts, filo, and honey.

Everything was delicious. Our service was wonderful. We literally enjoyed every option that we ordered. Don't be discouraged that this spot is located in a food court - it is worth the order. There is also plenty of seating available. You can take a break from shopping to try our some delicious Persian bites!“

“I loved this little restaurant in the marina. The place has amazing views for a nice meal. The pizzas are out of this world, made with fresh ingredients and great seasoning. It gets pretty busy but still, we managed to get a table outside after a brief wait. They have a wide range of options, from vegetarian to gluten free dishes, as well as wine and cocktails. The service is pretty good, they were really attentive and polite.“

First you always get their signature consommé and delicious warm popover with strawberry butter to start (compliments of the restaurant) It’s the best part of the meal service! Their appetizer portions were larger than we expected. The spinach artichoke dip was delicious served with light crispy warm tortilla chips. The yellowfin sashimi was delectable and fish was top quality. Drinks were fun with the Bloody Mary came a good stalk of celery, French 75 was a special that day. Finally check came with chocolates. Inside and outdoor seating available. This restaurant is a hidden gem at the top of Neiman Marcus. Just follow the Mariposas or butterflies up the escalator. Service was prompt, friendly and excellent!“

“There is a God!! I have been away for years working in North Dakota praying for a shrimp burrito. I was in Balboa over weekend and got my Shrimp fix. So darn good! The best shrimp soze and taste anywhere. They have not changed anything during this bad inflation. Miss the salsa bar but they gave us plenty. Most great places come and eventually go but GM is still.#1. Thank you Peter and staff!!.“

“12/6/2023It's a fast service sushi place for sure. I liked my crunchy roll and teriyaki chicken just fine but it does feel rushed. I would say it's perfect for a quick lunch on a work day. The store front was clean and the staff were nice enough. Overall it's perfectly fine.“

“I love this location of Fresh Brothers, the service there is fantastic. All the cashiers are wonderful people. And when you buy the food, they aren’t like other places where people trying to let you give more tips. So every time when I order, I would love to give them all the cash that I have or add over 20% tips with my card payments. Also, one time when I was in very low of my blood sugar, their servers gave me 20 ounces of regular coke before I pay for it. Later I paid for it. How awesome they are! I love this place and their people and of course their food also.“
