“Cafe Sakana is a true Gem in Orange County! Tucked away in the back of a sleek-fashionable plaza.. this Restaurant nails it on all levels! Service, Food and Atmosphere. I can't say enough about this Family owned Restaurant. The late owner Jay truly put his heart and soul into the Restaurant and the family carries out his Legacy! Mayumi, Roy and the Staff are quite pleasant and I am so looking forward to coming back again soon. I am a big fan of the Nigiri! My favorites were the Sea Bream, Blue Crab, Peppered Tuna, and Salmon Pesto. The Jay Roll was also a must. Give it a try! You won't be disappointed.“
“Friendly owners, delicious rice bowl! I found this place while looking to try something new in the Newport/Costa Mesa area. We knew they’re closing soon so I wanted to give them a visit! When we walked in the owner gave us recommendations based on what’s popular since it’s our first time. The rice bowl was really flavorful and delicious! “Well this was my first time to Fashion island and after a few hours of walking we decided to park it and enjoy some amazing food. Hana Grill was absolutely fantastic. Super fresh food. Just enough teriyaki sauce so it wasn’t too sweet. The shaved ribeye was super tender. The chicken almost tasted marinated. The rice was tender and just perfect!“

“I’ve tried out a lot of Omakase in LA and San Shi Go is def my favorite! The food quality is top-notch; you can never go wrong with whatever sake on the menu. Besides the most common Omakase pieces including Otoro, Uni, etc., I especially love love love the deep-dried shrimp head, Nodoguro, Shimaaji, Managtatsuo, Isaki, Kinmedai, Amadai, and Wagyu sushi. I can’t have enough of it and ended up with 26 pieces sushi (I would’ve had more if it was not already past the store hour?) The staff here is all welcoming. And lastly big shoutout to Yoshisan! He is the BEST!!!!!!“

“This is a "must" when we are in Newport Beach! Some of the best sushi around! The Buddha roll is unique and delicious.
The service is always on point.
We love the atmosphere, simple and casual. We like looking at the harbor and the boats.
Parking: It was a busy summer evening and we had no problem with valet parking. Dropping off and retrieving the car was easy and efficient.“

“I got the chicken bento box with green salad, potstickers, and salmon roll, and for 16$ it was amazing. Overall everything in the bento box tasted fresh, especially the sushi rolls! The bento box can definitely be enough food for 2 meal. Will be returning back, staff/owners are very nice.“

“Never disappoints! Food is amazing! Always come here for special occasions and holidays. Every server and front desk are so nice and caring. They get the orders right even when it's so loud in there. Please is so clean and put together. Roberto is a great chef and Sheila was a nice server and did great job getting our food orders. Would definitely recommend coming! All locations are amazing but we like the Newport location.“
