As you move down the line, there’s freshly made tempura calling your name 😂—I grabbed the egg, sweet potato, shrimp, and a few others. Then hit the self-serve toppings for scallions and more. First bite… BOOM! Deep, flavorful broth, thin-sliced beef, and those perfectly chewy noodles. Loved it! The tempura was crispy, crunchy, and tasty, especially the egg—fluffy inside, crispy outside. “I recently visited Mubong-ri Soondae-guk and decided to try their cheese tonkatsu instead of the usual soondae-guk, and I was pleasantly surprised by how satisfying the meal was. The breading on the pork cutlet was perfectly crispy, and once I cut into it, the generous amount of cheese inside melted out beautifully, adding a great visual appeal. The meat itself was tender and not chewy at all, making it a dish that anyone would enjoy, and the harmony with the provided sauce was excellent. Since it is a restaurant specializing in soondae-guk, I didn't have high expectations, but I was truly shocked by the high quality, which rivaled that of specialized tonkatsu restaurants. “Our go-to restaurant when we are starving at night. Authentic Chinese street food with right-on-the-spot seasoning. Location is in a shared kitchen facility together with many other small businesses. Clear window showing their kitchen so you know all the food are made fresh for you. A must try place overall!“

“Nice and cozy place to grab a bite to eat. Service was easy and helpful, and I enjoyed my experience here. Even though their food is not necessarily something I would go out of my way to get, it tasted pretty good. The menu was a little vague, and some of the options seemed a little pricey, and perhaps we could've ended up getting better dishes. The restaurant itself smells pretty good once you walk in, and while the food tastes pretty good too, its taste doesn't seem to be on a par with its aroma. In other words, the smell is deceiving; make sure you know what you are ordering. The sides were pretty good and substantial. Beware: the Dawa Chicken tastes very sweet. Might recommend this place to another person, and might come back if I'm in the close area.

the beef rolls were definitely my FAV. super crispy and crunchy on the outside with such a savory filling. i would honestly come back just for these 😭

the garlic noodles were so fragrant, garlicky, buttery, and perfectly chewy. you also HAVE to order the mapo tofuuu!!! the flavors just hit different 🤌🏼 so rich, savory, a little spicy, and sooo good with rice.

the sweet and sour spare ribs had the perfect balance of sweet and tangy, and the fried rice was yummy, simple, and comforting ♡

we also tried their new corn cheese with shrimp and it was such an interesting combo!! super creamy and cheesy, so if you love cheesy stuff you’ll definitely enjoy this one 🧀🍤

all of their flavored teas are really good too, but the strawberry yogurt drink was my favorite 🍓 it’s creamy, refreshing, and not too heavy.

“Living in the boonies of San Diego Co has benefits…(no traffic jams)…but few awesome perks…(like Tiki bars!!) Luckily the gods aligned, in Orange Co, and our last stop was the Stowaway. Intriguing, dark-painted, one small door marked the front of a strip-mall establishment… hmmm…sorta scary…but not really!! But there were two of us, and we had researched this place…so… The doorman looked at us, said a few things and unlocked a chain. We walked through curtains into the darkest bar I had ever been in, and shuffled toward the green lit bar…which turned red, then blue. The girl bartender handed us a card which we couldn’t read…it was really dark inside. From the shadows, up walked a bearded guy wearing a black shirt with hibiscus’s, smiled, extended his hand and said, “Hi, I’m “WILL”…can I explain anything to you? We had lots of questions…about drinks, Tiki ceramics, glassware, appetizers…and WILL cheerfully explained everything…He was fun, cheery, smart, and So Nice!! He brought us amazing drinks (a Tropical Margarita, a Cococano and totally fun ceramic sculptures from which to drink…an Angler Zombie Fish with a light, and Carved Volcano mug that had a flame show-by WILL, included!! Awesome!!) Totally wonderful décor…lights, bamboo furniture, comfy stools, the Skull Cave and waterfall, starry night ceiling, cool pool tables with lotsa room around them…everything thought through perfectly!!! We are definitely going back…VERY soon!!!! Thanks so much for everything, WILL!!“

“Wow. Seated promptly on a busy Thursday night, drinks and orders were taken and received in a timely manner, and waiter had great solutions to food preference. Restroom was clean, open windows provided a nice airy breeze even though the place was packed. Food portions were decent. I have nothing negative to say!
