Fourth time eating at a Nobu (twice before in Miami and once in Vegas) and this might have been the best experience yet. Everything was delicious - toro carpaccio, ribeye with truffle butter, yellowtail jalapeño roll, lobster tacos, sea bass, kakigori (dessert, ridiculous good). Service was on point. Really just a perfect meal honestly.
I love sushi; however, when recipes are done to say, “See, we are different..” they should be comparably tasty, alas, we found it just average. Considering a $400+ price tag, it should be exquisite. In addition, the view on the water is excellent, yet the ambiance was just short of a lucky strike, the noise level was disturbing to say the very least. The service, atmosphere, and cocktails were outstanding. The food was a solid “good.” We had the tasting menu. I expected something special by choosing that option, something I hadn’t ever had, something that would take me out of my comfort zone, but instead it was very standard. The food was all good, just unimaginative.
