Eating out on Thanksgiving can be a trick but Chart House did a fantastic job of accommodating all their customers. The staff were helpful, and everyone had a great attitude through the very busy night. We had a delicious dinner with great service.

We eat at this location/Dana Point several times a year for family celebrations, and also for Thanksgiving since we are empty-nesters. Sadly this Thanksgiving 2025, was a disappointment. Our server was very good but he did not double check our order before it arrived at our table. I did not mention anything because he said his day started at 9 AM-11 PM, and staff were surely pushed to the max. I had ordered the thanksgiving meal with mashed Sweet potatoes instead, I got White mashed potatoes; worst part the stuffing was burnt on the bottom. How could the chef not know that he was serving someones plate with burnt ingredients? I was shocked. Plus it also meant the server and our waiter were not paying attention; yes, I know again the busiest time of the year and holiday, but again we come every year for Thanksgiving. I am seriously going to reconsider where we go for next Thanksgiving, even IF its Denny's (no offense). Thank you for all the other times we come for dinners I especially love your grilled Salmon!

Amazing venue to celebrate Thanksgiving with family & loved ones. Our server Jake was fantastic. Stunning atmosphere and views of Dana Point Harbor.

We went for the pre-fix Thanksgiving Dinner and they had lots of choices. The non turkey dinner choices my family got seemed like a pretty good deal. I wasn't terribly impressed with the Turkey Dinner but that may have just been my expectation since we have never actually gone to a restaurant for Thanksgiving. The drinks were so cool, and very strong lol. All in all it was a good experience. I may like it better on a regular day

Restaurant was understaffed and our waitress had no back up help. Dishes were left on the table when the next order was delivered. She managed to do her best. Perhaps next time you will not have as many choices on the menu to speed up food service.

Chart House Restaurant Came here for the advertised three-course dinner for $75 per person and left very disappointed. The only bright spot was the shrimp cocktail — it arrived quickly and was actually quite good. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. My wife's chopped salad looked wilted and far from fresh. Her salmon tasted bland and seemed as if it had been sitting out too long. I ordered the prime roast and couldn't believe it was served this way. The meat was overcooked, tough, and difficult to cut. The mashed potatoes were cold and completely tasteless. The total bill was nearly $200 for two people — and for that price, the food should be excellent, not barely edible. Sadly, this experience didn't come close.

The worst prime rib ever. Asked for rare, got medium. No flavor. It was as if it was precooked and then warmed in a microwave. Definitely not the holiday experience we were looking for. The waitress was great and the people at check in and the view is nice but that's it.

The management of this restaurant seems to rely entirely on its great location and nice view, rather than providing any real quality in food or service. We were very disappointed. When we arrived, our table was set for only two people, even though we had a reservation for four. After we asked for the missing place settings, the staff simply dropped off a plate, forks, and a glass — without even setting them properly, as you would expect in any decent restaurant. Everything was just laid directly on the dirty table. We ordered the NY strip and the prime rib. Both dishes looked unappetizing, with no effort in presentation at all. The prime rib was practically inedible — it looked undercooked and tasted awful. We had even mentioned in our reservation that we were coming to celebrate our anniversary, but there was absolutely no acknowledgment or effort made by the restaurant. Overall, a very disappointing experience. Poor service, bad food, and no attention to detail — the only good thing about this place is the view, and that's clearly what management is counting on.

First off, I would like to say that our server was terrific! A tall gentleman I unfortunately I can't remember his name, but he stayed super cool under pressure always with a smile The menu very well. The menu is very well engineered. Lots of excellent choices. Now the bad part, service was very slow, which I'd like to blame on the kitchen and not our server We ordered the halibut with lobster risotto, and the risotto was cold. After letting our server know, the management/customer service was impeccable and made it up to us. Despite this hiccup, we will definitely return. In fact, we look forward to it. The view, sunset is magnificent and I highly recommend going just before sunset. the night we were there we experienced a lavender sunset, which was absolutely incredible! The view really is breathtaking 😊

It's hard to know how to begin. Not a good experience!! I've been going to this Chart House for quite some time and I have never left feeling like I did last night. Things started off quite well. My wife and I ordered drinks and the Shrimp Cocktail appetizer. They arrived promptly and the Shrimp Cocktail was fantastic. Then my wife had Lobster Bisque. Also excellent. Then we ordered our entrees, Blacked Swordfish and King Crab Legs. They also arrived promptly and both dishes were excellent. Then our server, Jake disappeared!! And I do mean disappeared. Never came back for almost an hour. When he did return he just dropped off the check. Didn't ask if we wanted dessert or an after dinner drink....which we did. So I payed the bill and got out of there. didn't leave an awesome tip. Not sure when or if I will return. Like I said not happy when we left!!

I was really excited to bring my partner here for his birthday this past Sunday and everything was going great until our waiter kept forgetting what we were asking for. It didn't really bother us until our appetizer came and it was cold ,when we let out waiter know about it being cold he asked us if we were okay with him sticking it in the microwave to warm it up instead of it being remade . For the amount of money being paid for dinner I would expect the service of the food to be better . The waiter had also recommended to add on vegetables with our meals , which he then forgot to bring out and still added it to the bill . The food overall was pretty average and not worth the price , it just a shame because I was excited to visit this restaurant. Lastly I made reservations stating I was celebrating a birthday and never once was it offered to order a dessert or asked if we were celebrating anything that night .

This was our 1st time dining at the Chart House in Dana Point. We had a beautiful dinner with an amazing view of the marina below. The food was exceptional and paired it with an aged red wine. The dessert took the evening over the top. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a romantic dinner for two or special celebration. Heard from a local that it is the place to go for Happy Hour during the week. Definitely will return in the near future. Thanks everyone for a beautiful evening. C&E

From the view at the entrance overlooking the Dana Point Harbor below, to the entrance itself, a stairway spiraling down into the greeting area, to the views out to the ocean from most of the seating, to the wonderful attentive wait staff, to the delicious and excellent food, the entire night was incredible and a perfect way to cap our trip to Dana Point. We cannot say enough great things about Chart House - Dana Point. We hope to visit the area again soon and when we do, this will definitely be a place we come visit again.
