This restaurant used to be a favorite one. Unfortunately after our visit last night, we will no be coming back. Looks like there is new ownership and they missed the mark. They ran out of turkey on Thanksgiving day, the main reason we went out for dinner. Our wine came out when we were almost finished with our dish. My husband had a steak , the presentation was terrible, it was rare instead of medium, the mashed potatoes were hard. I had the cod, it was overcooked, the black rice was good. Also the seafood bisque was good. The staff needs better training. Like other reviewers said it felt like eating at a cafeteria not a high end restaurant, no table cloths, no flowers, nothing special to enhance the experience . Very disappointed.
We planned Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant with family, who drove hours to get there, so we could spend focused time together. We specifically chose Bridges because they offered a traditional Thanksgiving Turkey dinner option. We've been to Bridges before and enjoyed the experience. This was different! They ran out of Turkey! Ridiculous! And, to top it off, management didn't even take responsibility! Had this been any other day, we would understand running out of a menu item... it happens. It was Thanksgiving! Had there been another option, we would have left the restaurant. For a restaurant to not have enough turkey at Thanksgiving is Unacceptable! Reservations were required, so, how did they mess up so badly? On top of that, the steaks were overcooked, as was the lobster tail, and the mashed potatoes were sweet (these were white potatoes, not sweet potatoes!). There was no offer of recompense, no apologies from the management. Crazy! It seemed like they knew they had a captive audience and didn't care about their customers. Awful food experience overall.
Another not so good experience at Bridges. We wanted to give them another chance after last year's bad experience on Thanksgiving. The food quality is just not there anymore. Overcooked filet mignon and lobster tail; over loaded imitation crab in seafood lobster bisque soup; undercooked edamame and rice. It's just very disappointing all around!
This place used to be great for thanksgiving dinner but the ambience and quality had dropped significantly from last year. Very disappointed and will definitely avoid next year.
Spoke to manager already and don't need to continue here. Service and ambiance was not standard for this restaurant as we are frequently here. It is unfortunate that this servers whole section of clients were complaining about service loud enough to make it an unpleasant experience. Manager asked us to return and he will ensure a better experience. We will be back as we know that this instance is only indicative of the evening.
Very disappointed I'm a longtime customer. This was the worst meal I've ever had there. Don't plan going back.
What a sad evening after so many lovely times at Bridges. Our server was either poorly trained or totally stressed--maybe both. She had trouble taking a martini order, disappeared for long periods and left some of her duties to others who tried to assist. Our drinks were served in time for another server to arrive w/ our food order. (She took it back.) Our server was to have taken our wine order when the drinks were served, but she didn't do so until after our main course was on the table. It was very unfortunate and made our experience less than optimal. In addition, the prime rib was very sinewy making us wonder if it was an inferior grade. And the potatoes? Who screws up potatoes? Ours were cold and tasteless. When our server took my husband's order for an espresso, she raced away before taking my coffee order. Oy. Two pluses were the seafood bisque and the mango pana cotta. I'd like to say the experience was due to a lot of parties being served. Unfortunately, we've eaten Thanksgiving dinner at Bridges several times in the past and everything was spot-on. Previous experiences at Bridges were also excellent. It gives me no pleasure writing this review.
Worst Thanksgiving dinner. Soup arriving before the cocktails and waiter couldn't understand that we wanted the soup sent back and returned after drinks. He said the bar was backlogged and we'd get the soup first. We wanted to have drinks and chat with our friends who we don't get to see very often. The lobster bisque was good it a bit thin and salty. The entry was terrible. The turkey was carved well but nothing special. Both the dressing and "mashed potatoes had almost no gravy and were as dry as we've ever had. The cranberry sauce was about 5 cranberries per plated with a spoonful of a red liquid on them. We would have preferred the Archie Bunker version (the real kind that just slides out of the can.) No choice of vegetable although had did offer a few choices for an additional $9. The included vegetable was roasted Brussel sprouts. They weren't roasted but burned to a crisp and had a terrible flavor. None of us could eat them. The lemon cheesecake dessert was very good and the best part of the meal. We never saw a manager walking the floor to see how the servers were doing (bread and butter removed while we were still eating.). Majority of the waitstaff were extremely young and clearly had no training beyond how to write down the order and deliver the food, and interact with the guests, We felt sorry for them because they were trying to do their best on a busy night without having the benefit of training, coaching or guidance while doing their jobs. We gave them a healthy tip any way. The disastrous meal wasn't really their fault but the management's. First and last time.
Bridges needs a remodel refresh, but it maintains as a quality establishment in Danville with great history. The tables could use some flair, such as candles or flowers. It felt like we were eating at a cafeteria with the plain wood tables and chairs. The food was good and service was great. Next time I go it will be on a nice evening where I can sit outside and it's a more lively atmosphere. Unfortunately, the dining room is so large that when it's not busy on a Sunday night the place feels dead.
The Bridges hamburger was excellent. The sale that came with it had too muck oil on it so I didn't finish it but cutting the oil I probably would have eaten it all. Burger could have been a tiny bit warmer.....but the food overall was excellent.

This is the first time back to Bridges after the new ownership change over. They have kept the same menu and we were very pleased to see that the quality of the dishes for fabulous and delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection and we really had a very nice dinner with great service as well. We'll definitely be coming back!
the meat was over cooked the lobster tail not only overcooked but a poor presentation mash potato??? pathetic not palatable and high school cafeteria presentation this was once a destination spot the ownership needs to get a real chef and better quality ingredients
Service was good but waiter forgot to ask about egg preparation and it took a bit longer. But very friendly.
The restaurant was beautifully decorated. The waitress was nice. There was confusion about where we were supposed to sit. We made reservations for 6, and they tried to seat us at a table for 5. The salmon was dry. The The Chardonnay was warm. They did comp it. The rest of the food was delicious. The drinks were fantastic, and so were the desserts.
We enjoyed the quiet corner seating.
