Amazing Food & Great Service!
I try to avoid 88 BaoBao after a very bad experience in one of their chain stores in the San Francisco Bay Area. This is the first time I decided to try 88 BaoBao again after many years. This one is in Davis. It is very good. It changed my view of 88 BaoBao after this lunch. I ordered the Pan-Fried Pork Bun and Pork Xiaolong Bao. Both dishes are very tasty and fresh. 88 BaoBao in Davis is a restaurant that has changed views and impressed many. The Pan-Fried Pork Bun and Pork Xiaolong Bao are very tasty and fresh. The pork xiao long bao is sooo good and flavorful. The stir fried rice noodles, chili oil wontons, and bbq pork bun are all so good, and the filling for the wontons is on point. The chicken and corn dumplings turn two simple sounding ingredients into such good flavor. The ramen has a creamy broth that is not salty. The hot and sour noodle soup is amazing. The shanghai chowmein has a great fiery smokey soy sauce taste. The dessert buns are amazing, especially the black molten lava buns, which are the softest buns with a not-so-sweet custard filling. The chicken fried rice is made in a very quick manner. The Mapo Tofu is definitely a favorite. The BBQ Pork Buns are really good. The restaurant provides excellent customer service. The staff is extremely friendly and constantly came around to the tables passing out more napkins and even coming around with a candy bowl from time to time. The service is fast as they greet you and seat you as soon as you walk in the door. The environment is inviting and has a warm bustling atmosphere. They are fastly accommodating to your needs and also super cute with children too as they hand them toys out sometimes. The portions are big and perfect for students. The ingredients are fresh and the food comes out relatively fast. The pictures show take out was packaged good and the staff provided utensils and extra sauce when asked. Overall, a 10/10 place to get brunch, lunch, and dinner with friends or family. It is busy for a reason.
