No jambalaya, gumbo, or any actual cajun dish. Owners obviously racist, exploiting a people that went through the Acadian Genocide by boiling seafood in knock off Zataran's. Do not support.
We arrived on a slow day. the food was good. It's not easy to get my girls to eat out, but they found something to eat here. I liked the cajun fried rice.
This was the worse seafood boil he had ever ate. My cousin and I went to Cajun feast for the first time and the last. No season no taste smushy. The flies had taken over the food very unpleasant, unclean table and chairs and floor dirty.
I have wanted to come here for the past three weeks and there have been dead flies in the window, the entirety of that time. A lot of dead flies. The owner has clearly not walked through the front door since then…….
Went to order my meal, multiple things on the menu were listed with the same photo and the same dish. There were at least three different listings for “wings” “nibblets” “chicken wings” etc that were the same exact thing. Very unorganized ordering system.
Not a bad thing, but the lemonade tastes like a melted shaved ice. You’ll be getting a sweet syrupy flavor if you end up ordering a lemonade.
The chicken we ordered was strange. The pieces were very small and there were many small bones. The bones kept breaking while I was eating it, leaving me to pick out lots of tiny bone fragments from my mouth. The fries were dusted in a sort of seasoning, not my cup of tea, but I know someone else likes it.
The person serving us is very nice, but when I asked if the niblets/wings were chicken, he said no. Then I asked again in a different way he said yes.
I ordered takeout from this restaurant, and when I got home, I realized items were missing from my order. What makes it worse is that I was the only customer there at the time—there was no rush or crowd, so there was really no excuse for the mistake.
I called to let them know and said I’d be coming back to pick up the missing items. Instead of offering an apology or trying to make it right, the person on the phone simply said they were closed. I pointed out that they didn’t close for another 15 minutes, and the response I got was, and I quote, “Nahhh, we close,” before they hung up on me.
Absolutely terrible service. A simple apology and willingness to fix the mistake would have gone a long way, but instead I was met with rudeness and zero accountability. Extremely disappointing experience.
I went with my family. We ordered the wonton soup, fried fish and rice, and chicken with rice. The wonton meat was not food. The fried fish and rice was good. The chicken and rice was good. The drinks were good. Service was amazing. Atmosphere was good. The girl that served us was so nice! This place is not on the list of recommendations. I even threw up hours later because of the food and carsickness maybe. I wouldn't come back.
Very ok Cajun.
Corns were not fresh, I threw them all away. Flavor of seafood is plain~ But I’ll bring them home, rinse them off and cook them again myself.
www: so clean and you can work remotely
eby: not spicy enough I feel like I ate gentrification jambalaya
Just moved to Davis and have been trying out new restaurants here and there. So let me just start by saying that we went out and got dinner a second time last night.
The food, quite literally, does not taste like anything. We ordered the popcorn chicken, Cajun pasta, and the jambalaya pasta.
The Cajun pasta might as well have been plain spaghetti noodles with paprika and cayenne.
The jambalaya pasta was just tomato sauce spaghetti. With cayenne, of course. Because Cajun is cayenne pepper.
The service was fine, but the restaurant was completely empty when we walked in on a Friday afternoon which I guess should’ve been a clue. Can’t say anything for the Asian options available but the “cajun” options were not it.

I'm giving 5 stars because I think this place gets worse of a rep than it deserves. However, I'm going to write my honest opinion.
Admittedly, I didn't order any Cajun options (I got Maopo tofu), what I got was no doubt tasty, and I ate every bit. I will say that they cater specifically to younger college students, and their dish perfectly reflects that with frozen peas/carrots and a beef boulion gravy. Delicious, no doubt, and perhaps I'm still adjusting to inflation, but I feel like this meal should not cost more than $8.99
Service was very lowbar, but I assume it's their daughter acting as front of the house, and I can empathize with working with parents against your will. However, little things like not informing me when I already paid you didn't have the drink I ordered, and telling me to get my own spoon when I kindly asked for one, then immediately going right next to the spoons and back by my table anyway (just a weird trip).
Anyway, I'll definitely be back and want to try more items, but there are certainly areas where I think they can do much better.
P.S. as I'm writing this their young son is playing video games (sounds like "Crash Bandicoot") very loudly. Get the boy some headphones please!?

I don't think I would survive without their garlic noodles. Every time I come to Davis I get garlic noodles and bring them home.

Okay I enjoyed meal, she was good. However, I would just say there are other places in Davis where you could get your bang for your buck. This place is more expensive for what you get compared to other places and you do get a drink. The lemonades come with a bunch of different flavors which is fun but just VERY sweet but I don't have much of a sweet tooth so personally, I would opt for the tea instead. I like my chicken and the plum sauce quite pleasantly surprised me. It just wasn't that much food for what I said for which was disappointing. I wouldn't mind coming here again, like the food isn't bad, but I just don't know if I would choose this place as a first pick when going out to eat. The ambiance is okay, with some music playing and there's seating outside and inside. Your order at a kiosk so you don't interact much with a server unless they're serving you the food but then you put your dishes away yourself. It's kinda interesting, I felt like I was eating in a ghosted restaurant sorta BAHHA but I don't mind. I know some people go out to eat partially for the service experience and there's not too much of that here so that's good to know if it's important to you. Overall, nothing bad but nothing outstandingly great either.
