GREAT PLACE for catering/group events! We had a reception here, and Daniel and the team made it so easy to plan our event (especially since we're from Los Angeles!). We got a great deal for the group, and the food was delicious!! Ordered pizzas, wings (omg the miso wings!), salad, and beverages. Definitely recommend for group events!!

Wow the Bahn Mi sandwich was way larger than expected. Almost a full foot long. But it was not filled with proteins. A huge piece of bread as a notion and no where near the food which should have been included.

We absolutely loved this place! The food was great and the service was outstanding. Loved the Ramen and appetizers. We will be back.

Sage Street Bistro and Banzai are pretty much the same restaurant. There are two separate menus and two names, but at the register you can order from both with no issue. I have reviewed Banzai already, but I wanted to talk a little bit about Sage Street Bistro as well. Sage Street Bistro's menu is full of unique sandwich, salad, and pizza items. Just about all of their items sound interesting. Tonight I had the chance to try their Banzai pizza which has an Asian theme with the main topping being char siu. Char siu is a type of Asian pork. It's very popular, but I've not had it on a pizza before. It was on the pricier side (over $20), but we just had to try it and see what it was all about. Though a bit expensive, the pizza is pretty large. It's definitely a 2-3 person item. Sadly, the pizza does suffer from the same issues that I had with Sage Street's sister restaurant Banzai. It was a bit too salty. Sure, Char siu is supposed to be salty, but the pizza as a whole just needed a more savory, less salty element to it. My friend tried one of the sandwiches. The sandwich size is a nice portion, but she said that it was middling in terms of overall taste. I really like the food concepts at Sage Street. I just wish the execution of the items could be a little better (less salt!). I also think some of the prices here are high. All in all though, I think Sage Street cafe is a welcome addition to Davis. I hope to give some more of their menu a try in the near future!

Nicely priced sandwiches - $7.95. NOT HAVE AGAIN: Sage St. Po Boy Baguette was tasty but the roll was no baguette, just a regular roll like a French roll, but not even French. The shrimp was ok, but very small pieces. Better try something else next time.
