This family owned and run restaurant serves genuine middle eastern food. The food is excellent and the service staff is very good. This is not fast food. Come prepared to wait, but you’ll be rewarded with freshly prepared delicious food. We often call in our order to pickup. It is and remains one of our favorites restaurant in Davis.
We had heard nice things about this place from a friend and decided to check it out. We really liked it! The food is very good (we had the Banoo plate), I enjoyed the hot tea with free refills, and we are eager to come back and try more. The patio area does its best to feel comfortable with heat lamps and decorations, but bear in mind that this is outside, not inside the building.
The place is beautiful and the staff are great. A little disappointed in the persian food I received as it’s so small especially for what you pay. Definitely happy there’s a persian spot in Davis, but as a fellow Iranian this missed the mark. Generosity is key in our culture and I felt that the prices are greedy. I’m not glutinous but this was not what I expected
Food tastes good. The wait was long. The line for pick up and dine in should be separated. The roasted veggies were nice, good additions to the koobideh and joojeh. Meat tasted nice. The amount of rice however, can be increased. The amount of food provided is less compared to the prices (amount of food is also lower compared to other persian restaurants in Sacramento and Berkeley area which serve food at similar price ranges with better aesthetics in the restaurants).
Excellent, just excellent simple food. We always try to stop by for a quick lunch when we drive from Bay Area to Tahoe. Probably best chicken kebab I’ve ever tried. Service was not always perfect (couple of times we had to wait longer than expected), but always friendly. Highly recommended overall.
Stand Up Kabob was an unplanned lunch stop after our drive from Lake Tahoe back to San Francisco. We were starving and stumbled upon this charming restaurant.
So far, it’s my favorite spot during my two-week USA trip! The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, the basmati rice and veggies were perfectly cooked, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Definitely a must-try!
Loved this place. Everything was good and i hope they will stay open everyday. Now i believe they are open on Fridays.

Fantastic Persian food, very good! Had chicken special tonight added lavesh bread. My wife had kabobs. Rolled up the chicken, rice, veggies in lavesh and the flavors are exotic. Realize every meal is individually cooked, so not fast food, takes time for food delivered to table, and it is worth it?

Food is OK but their prices are way too high for what they provide. Charging $6 for a thimble of watery salad is ridiculous. And they don’t allow you alter an item on their menu. Even fast food restaurants allow that.

By far the best persian restaurant around here. They have Rostam beer, which is a must try! Persian DJ Events? and, most importantly, amazing traditional persian food! Must go if you like persiak food or like to try?

I come to this place about twice a month. I always recommend it to friends and family. The food is good. Very casual environment but nice. The staff is friendly.
I had a bad experience there today. While my family and I were dinning in, we were asked if we would like appetizers. We wanted to get to the main dishes right away, so we said no and that we would like to order the main plates. The person serving us explained the menu to us. He mentioned that the dishes we were ordering (all banoo kebab plates) come with salads or yogurts. So, we chose the salads/yogurt we wanted. He said the actual dish would take 38 minutes to prepare, so he said he will bring out the sides of our dishes first. We thought it was a good idea. All of my family members understood that the sides come with the main dish price based on him saying they are part of the main dishes. We go to pay and apparently we were charged for the salads/yogurts as separate items. In my opinion this was a sleazy way to up sell the customers. We were tricked into ordering appetizers basically. The server presented the sides as they come with the main dish then charging separately (maybe hoping the customer would not question things too much..as we did not at first until I looked at the check closely). So, if they tell you something comes with your plate be absolutely sure that it does. It is not about the money but the principle. Now I feel cheated. Should not trick loyal customers like this. It is a dishonest sleazy way of doing business. It was a very dirty move. We made it known to the person who pulled this trick before we left.
EDIT: Running out of food was NOT the issue.
You exclusively told us that salads or yogurts come as sides of the main plates (meaning the price of the main plate includes the price of the side). THEN, when we went to pay you charged us about 35 dollars extra for yogurts and salad that were again supposed to be free sides because you exclusively said so. You misled us. Again, it is not about the money but it is wrong to take advantage/trick your loyal customers or any customer for that matter.

Just go!
Food was great. We just stumbled upon it during a soccer tournament. It's attached to a car dealership and a little hard to find but Hoogle will get you there correctly and look for the bread boards on the street. Parking in the back.
Food was delicious. Owner is a high quality individual (met him on our 1st visit) and passionate about food, customer, service, and trying new foods and drinks.
Looking for interesting flavors, great service, and a place with great purpose? Go!!
We got our's to go and brought back to Davis soccer fields.
Indoor and outdoor seating.
Parking: Behind the car dealer and restaurant. 10 second walk.
