Me and Travis are planning to go here one day. We have confirmed it serves Cantonese style food (not Italian, not Mexican). I scanned the QR code and thought it took me to an inappropriate website at first. But then I realized I had another browser opened and I was wrong. The QR code works and takes you to the menu. Be well, Paul

I'm not sure if this was an off day for the restaurant given what I read in recent reviews, but our visit was not good. I remember this space fondly because Aioli used to be here; but alas, the nostalgia was not enough to save our experience. We came here on a Wedneday for dinner around 5:30pm and the AC wasn't on on a particularly warm day in Davis. They turned it on after 3-4 more parties came in after us, but there were also people sitting before us, so I'm not sure about their decision to delay the comfort. Next, we were told to pick any table, but then we weren't given menus for a few minutes. Then, no drinks, not even water. When we ordered, the staff told us that she could remember our order (she didn't write anything down), but then she got the drinks mixed up. The dishes came out one at a time, with appetizers coming out in the middle of our meal. Minutes passed between dishes coming out, so people were eating at different times. My order, the unagi bowl, came DRENCHED in sauce. It was so much, so salty, I had to scrape a bunch of it off. When I was ordering, I asked if there were any veggies. I was told, "not really, there are 3 tiny pieces. If you want veggies, you have to order extra". Fair, so we ordered some broccoli as well. One of the most perplexing parts of the dining experience was the menu. My mom saw a photo of a dish on the menu that she really wanted. When she pointed to it to order, she was told that they don't make that dish - it's just a nice looking photo only. Then why have it on the menu?!? We also didn't get our water refilled, even though we asked a few times. The food did come out piping hot though, so I guess that's something? I won't be back.

Food is delicious and comes with a drink. Service can be slow at times. They have a lot of takeout orders. The Portuguese chicken tends to be a bit too sweet. Other than that, everything is great!

female hostess was mean, she said that they need to prioritize the tables when they all literally came after us. we waited for more than 40 minutes, soon to be a full hour because we still have another waiting dish for pork belly, for four full dishes. i even had to confront them about this horrible wait time frequently to ensure that they didn't just forget about our order. we still have missing teas in our order, and there are food still streaming out the kitchen but just not to us sitting on the benches. ordering takeout is at this point literally faster than coming in and picking it up. this restaurant is absolutely horrible in service, the food is not worth waiting here for this long. go to dumpling kitchen instead, we will not ever be returning to this place.

Food is cheap and usually very good. I’m a big fan of the salmon or the eel, on rice. Service is a bit inconsistent, in an oddly charming way. A bit like when you find a good eating spot while

Wait times were long as usual. My friend had ordered a noodle soup with pork wontons and received it last. The wontons were undercooked and raw (Photo Evidence Attached). We showed it to the waitress and she was being very unreasonable and quick to be hostile. My friend tried to ask if she could order something as a substitute for the dish, to which the waitress refused remarking she had only two options: 1) Receiving the same dish without wontons or 2) Not getting a replacement and still having to pay the amount of the fish. Additionally, my sister asked about the status of our tofu to which the waitress and other staff began accusing us of not being considerate of the busy kitchen and that they would just cancel our order. We were very cordial with the staff, and the way they handled the situation was not only unprofessional but flat-out rude.

The best Hainan chicken rice I've ever had! And you get a free drink with the dish, all for $11 such a good deal! I got the HK lemon ice tea, it's so good!

I got the bbq chicken bowl when I should've gotten the special but there's always next time!! The bbq chicken bowl is good but the special makes the plates be cheaper. My bowl had rice & veggies on the bottom which were scrumptious. There was a few pieces of chicken that was just fat which was no bueno for me!! However, everything else was perfect and my food always comes out fast!

First time visit. Suggested by a friend who loves Hong Kong cafe style food. Can't beat the price of roughly $10 per rice or noodle plate. My wife's shrimp with Portuguese sauce (a curry sauce with vegetables) was delicious and plentiful. My chicken with rice plate was also very good.

The waiter is rude and doesn’t care about your order or table.

Very yummy comfort food for a great price! I ate the unagi don and it had egg, broccoli, and a generous amount of sauce on it which is what I love. You get a very generous portion for what you're paying and can easily have one bowl/plate to feed two people or to save for another meal later. The place is clean and I have no issues with the service. There were some issues with them serving the wrong thing and then having to go back but I didn't mind. Each plate/bowl also comes with either a free soda or iced honey lemon tea which perfectly quenched my thirst. The fried tofu appetizer was also very good ? looking forward to coming here again

This was our second visit to this restaurant today. My daughter with her friends wanted to eat Indian food. Food is alright but the owners are super grumpy people. Last time also Uncle (I think he owns the place) seemed very upset. Even when we called him, he saw us and ignored us. :( The girl who works there, is much better. We ordered once and we’re waiting to order the next round of Naans & curry but nobody bothered to ask us if we wanted anything else. We kept waiting for a long time and then went to order inside. Aunty (she is the chef) shouted badly at our daughter’s friend, who was our guest. It was so embarrassing. If someone would have come to ask for our orders, we wouldn’t have gone to her in the first place. Our Uber driver (on the way back to hotel) also had a similar experience at the restaurant. Won’t suggest anyone to go there. If you want to eat Indian, rather get a take away but don’t sit and eat to get insulted. These 2 stars are just for the food.

Best Hainan chicken rice dish I've ever had! It's my favorite dish and I'm so glad there's a place in Davis that makes it so well. Dishes also come with a free drink, the iced lemon tea is amazing.
