Board & Brew - Del Mar

Showed up with three of my friends at 5pm (an hour before scheduled closing time). As we walked in there was another gentleman walking out empty-handed shaking his head saying “they are all sold out.” I thought he was joking.

We walked inside to order food and the guy at the cashier said “sorry, no food. We are out of everything…”

How can you be out of sandwiches, salads, everything? Clearly this crew wanted to go home and watch the Padres vs Dodgers game?

Any way, I won’t be coming back here. Total joke of an establishment.

When I lived here in Del Mar back in the 80’s and 90’s this was a popular place for amazing sandwiches. Whenever I’m in town I try to stop by-the Turkado is the best!

Can’t beat BnB’s sammies. Solid IPA. This location could clean the tables a little more often & my older pops had a hard time ordering because the music is pretty loud inside.

Constantly close early. They post they close at 6pm but they actually typically close by 5pm. It’s impossible to order dinner from here, so unless you want lunch, AVOID this place.

Had the turkey specialty sandwich and it was incredible.
Soft bread, delicious fresh cut turkey breast, crispy bacon and delicious lettuce and tomatoes.
Highly recommend pairing it with the Board & Brew house sauce!

Board & Brew is kind of your no frills or thrills sandwich shop but boy do they know how to make a great sandwich. They have a certain surfer aesthetic to them and got started by catering to the locals but now have tons of locations throughout though the quality is amazing.

All the sandwich choices here looked and sounded tasty so you really can’t go wrong. Each order also comes with a side of their signature sauce which wasn’t too hot but rather sweet and tangy so I thought it paired nicely with the meats.

Parking at this location is a little tough as it’s super busy but once you find a spot and order you can usually get a table inside or out. Very chill spot to spend a lunch!

Excellent service and sandwich. Ordered the Baja Chicken and it was very satisfying. Make sure to ask for the sauce when picking up your sandwich for some extra flavor.
