I grew up in La Jolla and would go to the original Broken Yolk location down in Pacific Beach often. I loved it then and still love it now. Every time I come to Broken Yolk I always get a great meal and service is always lightning fast. This Del Mar location is probably my favorite of all of them because there is a large free parking lot directly in front that is never too crowded and the servers are always very friendly here. It can get quite crowded some mornings, but usually it’s not as bad as some other places around town. The food is consistently good and the menu is very large so it’s a great option for breakfast on any occasion.
Inside is quite large and can host many different sized groups from small to large. For this breakfast, I chose a Build Your Own Omelette and added the hollandaise on top which I highly recommend. This place is consistently great and I would confidently recommend it to anyone.

When I was in San Diego became across the Broken Yolk the 1st day. Everything about the place was so great! We tried a few other breakfast places but ended up returning here multiple times. The place was clean, all the staff super friendly & the food was always amazing!

I had a wonderful experience at this location today. My boyfriend ordered a lemon pancake ricotta and eggs with bacon combo. I got a vegan egg skillet that tasted amazing and Hernando our server was very patient attending my lifestyle. Hernando is very friendly and gave great customer service. We will be returning soon!

The hash browns were unseasoned. eggs Benedict was good for a few bites but it started having a little weird aftertaste to it… Workers are nice and all, but it was a little hard to understand each other when ordering. It’s decent for a quick breakfast if ur willing to pay a lot and are pretty desperately hungry.
