This place has the best date shakes around. I have tried them at places to the west and east,. Nothing beats Windmill Market! Great friendly, fast service. Prices are very reasonable compared to other places, they offer multiple sizes. This shake has a generous amount of dates on it vs what I have had elsewhere. They also have fresh dates for sale, which are great and reasonable.

The pot roast special is almost as good as my mother’s pot roast.

I came craving a date shake. I love date shakes. I love dates. This could have been a great date shake but it wasn't. It seemed like there was a date pit ground up with the date meat in my shake. If I hadn't been really looking forward to a date shake, I would have trashed it after a couple sips because it's unpleasant to get these hard, inedible bits. Otherwise, it would have been good but still not the best; there are several other places with ones more to my taste. The patio is charming and the service was friendly.

I hesitate to write anything about this place because part of the charm is the lack of crowds. But everything else near the freeway in palm springs sort of sucks, I assume because they are all owned by private equity with surly employees who will get paid regardless of the cleanliness and quality. I can't imagine a more stark contrast to the Dennys in blythe than this little Cafe. Even my wife likes it.

Well I had read about this little desert market and was eager to give it a try. Known for its date shakes and old school weekly lunch specials-meatloaf, beef stroganoff. The date shake doesn't disappoint. I ordered a hot dog with mustard and diced onions. Not impressive. Cold bun, uncooked dog and toppings scarce. I asked for a little more mustard and you had thought I had asked for something at the top of the Empire State Building. The woman with brown hair in a bun (sure she wears it like that daily is nothing but rude. Watch out for her-wow! Enough to kill a business. The man was wonderful, personable.

Milkshakes only. Thought it was a smoothie place, but super friendly staff and seems like they have a large variety of ice cream options. 4 stars for service.

Great old school market and cafe. Wonderful back patio. Best date shakes in Palm Springs. Worth the trip from town.
