I love this place, a pinnacle pit stop for those visiting or passing through in need of a proper espresso and nourishing food. Everyone working there was socially engaged and very attentive, quite a refreshing cafe experience.

Great spot in a beautiful little town with sooo much history. When Highway 49 goes to one lane through town, take the opportunity to stop and visit this lil gem (and the other dozen or so establishments in town). Grab a cup or cone of homemade ice cream and stroll to the gazebo by the river. The Lemon Sorbet and double chocolate shake were amazing. This is a 'must-visit' location on your way through the forest.

I got an iced Mexican mocha and they filled a cup with milk, powdered hot chocolate and one shot of expresso. It was gritty and gross. Had to wait awhile to even be noticed to order the drink. Waste of $7

Had the breakfast sandwich. It was a reheated / pre prepared bagel with egg that was still partially frozen when we were served, the staff were 2 very nice high school kids who simply need some experienced adult supervision. The second breakfast sandwich was also a reheated pre-prepared item. Unfortunately, cold rush was the only place open on a Thursday morning. Had I known, I would have kept driving to Sierra city where the food appeared to be much better. Paid $30 for a hot cocoa and 2 breakfast sandwiches- wasn’t worth it. McDonald’s has better breakfast food.

Came in for Mother's Day as we are passing by on our way home. I was hungry so I wanted something sweet but also filling and the owner definitely did not disappoint. She went above and beyond and made me feel very special on my first Mother's Day making me the ultimate Sunday special see picture below. Thank you so much for being amazing and making my st Mother's Day a wonderful one!

The food , not much to pick from but the options taste nice. What really sold me there is the staff. Such amazing people! I wanna give a special thanks to Corky for showing me and my family the best warmest welcome to this town.

I have had breakfast several days and every time they have put love and effort to make great dishes. My favorite goes to the Green Bagel which has avocado, greens, cheese and pesto sauce, delicious! Add to that a great cappuccino and it is agreste start of the day.

A place to slow down, take your time, and chat with the other patrons. The food isn't fast but it is fresh and good. The town runs at a different pace. Definitely gives you a chance to relax.

The Cold Rush Cafe and it's adjacent Boomtown Lounge and market are true gems in Downieville. The staff are so wonderful here and go above and beyond. On our last trip Therese went above and beyond for us to give my wife a truly magical birthday dinner with smoked chicken, glazed carrots, and homemade Mac n cheese that was absolutely amazing. The cafe is a great place to pop in for a quick coffee or tea, but it is also so much more. You won't want to miss the Thursday trivia nights. We really love visiting Downieville and the staff at the Cold Rush Cafe are definitely a big part of what keeps us coming back.

Worked remotely from the cafe all day. The staff were so kind and accommodating and it felt like we got to know them as friends! Sharon made me a wonderful salad as I am gf and couldn’t eat bread. So wonderful here.

Super cute spot! I have a bunch of food allergies so couldn’t eat but the food looked great! Coffee and lattes were awesome (had non-dairy milks). Good WiFi, super friendly staff!

Stopped in for Lunch during brewfest. Good atmosphere, fun sitting at the bar and food was way better than you would expect in a small town. Delicious, freshly picked veggies, check it out!
