Went to Downieville this week on business and once finished, we we're hungry and decided to take a chance on a very scenic restaurant for lunch. Wow we're we in for a surprise and wonderful time. Michelle Lozano-Sahan our server was great and fun. The salad and pizza, well, it's a far drive from home, but I'm sure we'll visit again. The chef, he was fun also.

This place is always closed. Unfortunately the people who bought it also bought the store and the gas station. They have completely destroyed Downeyville. The poor people of Downeyville have no place to buy groceries because now the grocery store is a gas station filled with candy bars and shelfstable drink drinks. And now one of the only restaurants is forever closed, bringing tourism further from Downeyville. I truly hope that you read this and move from Downeyville and never return.

Mercedes Benz Club of America, Sacramento had a Sunday Drive club trip up to Downieville, specifically for a pizza lunch at the Two Rivers Cafe.. that was the BEST pizza I've had in years! We'll be back

When you read this, please understand I love good food and service, and I am retired after 56 years with KFC, both corporate and 32 years as Director of Operations for a multi store franchisee with locations in 4 states. It was past lunchtime, and I saw the Two Rivers Cafe. Not real busy being middle of the week and some lunch people were leaving. The manager was the person duty and was really on top of things. Very pleasant, and I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with fries and a drink. Even though he was also cooking, my food was almost instant. Tables were bussed immediately. The manager was a whirling dervish. The sandwich was the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. That is saying a lot. Bun was fresh, avocado ripe, lettuce and tomato, and onion fresh. The sandwich was so big I ended up asking for a knife and fork. Because of my profession, I notice things like the soda machine being properly adjusted and the excellent fries were cooked in clean oil. Great job and a 5 star stop for me.

Two Rivers was the perfect ending to a long hard day of bike riding. The Guac burger was incredibly good. It is huge. It was cooked to perfection. The guacamole sauce has a wonderful kick to it. The brown ale and the hazy were the perfect addition. Don't go through Downieville without stopping here! I will try the pizza next time.

We love Downieville! We sat outside with our dog, who got a burger patty, and we got a pizza and chicken sandwiches. All delicious and such a sweet spot to sit right by the river.
