I and a friend ate there last weekend, it was SO good that we went there again on yesterday. My favorite is the grilled cod, it is so fresh and flavorful. I had the fish n' chips on my first experience and it was also fresh with so much flavor and goodness with the wonderful sides you get. I highly recommend this place.

The bowl I got was ok and pretty big, but there was a flavor I wasn't wild about. The salmon filet on top was cooked perfectly and the elote off-the-cob was delicious. We picked this place after seeing churros on the online menu, but the waiter said they were out. We came at about noon on a weekday but it took a while for anyone to notice we were waiting and come seat us. It was nice sitting in the round room at the front and being able to see the mountains. I liked the decor inside the restaurant. The music was too loud for me. I've gotten take-out from here once before and the cali fish burrito was pretty good.

We have visited the Galley several times, always for the fish & chips which are outstanding. Last weekend we took 7 people with us, most couples shared a fish & chips entree as there is so much to eat. Some split a bowl of clam chowder which ranks up there with the best.I understand they just sold out to another fish company. I certainly hope they don't change what they are doing now, it's just almost impossible to find descent fish & chips around here.

I've been here twice. The food is great; I love the cod in butter, capers, veggies are great and so is the rice, cilantro or white. Service is great; prompt and friendly.Love it ! It's small, but cozy, and there is a bar.

My coworkers and I stopped by here for lunch because we had work in the area. We came around 1pm and the place was empty. Our orders took a while but the food all came out at the same time and everyone enjoyed it. I got the avocado salad with grilled salmon. My coworkers got a steak burrito, veggie burrito, and tacos plates. They got chicken and blackened salmon tacos. My grilled salmon was good! They grilled it very well so it was crispy.. I think I would've preferred it a bit less well-done crispy.. Overall we liked our food and they were able to separate our checks! I would recommend you check them out!

Since my wife and I can't eat any red meat during the lent period. We have to look for other alternatives. Saw The Galley Fish Grill on yelp and decided to give it a try. The clam chowder tastes a little blended and too watery. The breaded fish is too small, even though there are 6 pieces. The fish burrito and Mahi Mahi are the best, they are very flavorful. I love the garnish on the Mahi Mahi, they use mango and red sweet pepper. Overall, they are all good, especially for the price, I paid around $60 for all these.

We had the Fish & Chips along with a side of esquite. The server was very very attentive and friendly. The food was generously served on a large wooden platter, pippin hot. There was so much food that I couldn't eat it all but you can bet I was glad to take the remainder home for an midnight snack. Everything was fresh and delicious and the price was very reasonable considering all that was on the platter. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you're in the Monrovia/Duarte area of Southern California.BTW/ loved the musical selection with the exception of someone slipping in the Backstreet Boys' As Long As You Love. The transition from rhythmic Salsa music to Boy Band Blah did not sit well with my taste buds but maybe that's just me?Vegetarian options: There were vegetarian and vegan dishes on the menu which my daughter enjoyed.Parking: It's a shared parking lot but spaces are available.Wheelchair accessibility: The door and floor space inside the restaurant meets all the is A.D.A. Very spacious.Dietary restrictions: The portions that we got were seasoned well but the food was light. The menu served so many dishes to satisfy varying palettes.

Not so great. Surprising considering the great reviews here. The place was almost empty and the one waitress working only had 3 tables to service, and although she was nice, she spent more time cleaning empty tables and doing busywork than taking care of us. When we left, my friend's water glass had been empty for over 30 minutes. The fish was quite salty (thin filet of Cod, too heavily seasoned), my friend only ate a quarter of her food and was never asked why or if everything was all right. The plate sat shoved to the side, and never was removed, even after she said she would not be needing a box. We were there for almost 2 hours. That plate should have been taken off the table.I had the shrimp, and although it was nicely cooked I also felt it was salty. Both of us had rice, one white, the other cilantro, neither of which seemed fresh to either of us. The only vegetable option was a mix of zucchini and squash. When ordering my friend asked for something else to substitute and was told there are no other choices. No other vegetables? NONE? Couldn't she be given a small side salad instead? No. It took a few minutes to figure out that they did have beans, but it seemed like we had to really insist that there must be another veggie in the whole kitchen. It seemed kind of absurd. I felt like looking around for Larry David. The prices are not a bargain, so the quality of the food and service were a big disappointment.

Came in for a quick bite and shared the fish and chips. 6 pieces of fried fish, fries, lemon wedges, coleslaw, ketchup, and tartar sauce. The tartar sauce was great and complimented the fish well. Contrary to the other reviews, we did not get complimentary chips and salsa. Service was satisfactory. Would definitely return to try their other food options.

Customer service is A plus. The Cajun fish tacos were good & plentiful. The young lady added both sauces on the side. I liked the green one better. Both were good tho. The breaded taco was delish too. The grilled veggie were different however they were good. I'll be back. I saw a drink in a fish bowl looking glass I want to try.I was told the most popular item is the fried fish and chips.

Just happened to be in the area and decided to pop-in for lunch. Tried the fish and chips and it was really good. The batter was light and crisp and everything tasted fresh. The service was outstanding. Bonus points for having Jennie on staff.

We tried this restaurant for the first time and it was delicious. We ordered drinks while we waited for our food and they were yummy. The shrimp ceviche was delicious and refreshing. The Mahi Mahi plate was really good great flavors and tender veggies. I wish there was a bit more sauce on the fish but that's just personal preference. The coconut shrimp was yummy, and the veggie burrito was so good. My sister ordered the surf and turf fries and they were good, but she would have preferred a lot less of the Chipotle sauce. She thought it was cheese sauce at first and realized it wasn't. It's good for flavor but not that much. I would definitely recommend trying it out. We will be going back to try new things on the menu.

People. I don't get you. This place in no.way should be 5 stars. First off this place is sit.down and with a soda and tip you should know your fish and chips will.be close to 25 bucks. The fish here was soggy. Like pancake batter soft. Just unacceptable for fish and chips. Fries are not made in house. Overall everything.was ok but yeah not 5 stars at all.and not a place to bother going to for fish and chips

This place is awesome! Not just the food, but the level of customer service is absolutely outstanding. As we were waiting for our take-out to be prepared, we overheard someone at a nearby table let the server know that the food they ordered wasn't bad, just not to their taste. Instead of ignoring the patron, the server immediately offered to send some tacos home with the patron. I've never witnessed such great customer service! Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely visit again.

Parking: The Galley Fish Grill is located in a small plaza. It shares a small parking lot with a couple of other stores. There were plenty of spots when I went at noon. Interior: The Galley is a decent sized restaurant. The interior was roomy with many tables and a bar. Everything was relatively clean. Service: We were the only customers. There was only one waiter and he was pretty attentive. Food: There was complimentary chips and salsa for the table. I ordered the Fish & Chips ($16.95). The portion was a decent size and came with fries and coleslaw. The fish was not as crispy as I expected but the batter was still delicious. It wasn't too thicky or greasy like some of the other places that I have been to. Overall, I enjoyed it and would definitely recommend this place for Fish & Chips.
