We didn't stay here but stop for a meal, we had a choice of breakfast or lunch it just after 11 am. The French dip was good, had cheese, and had a soft roll. We also had the beet salad with blackbe
rries and goat cheese and various lettuces and spinach. I enjoyed it. However, I would have loved more beets less lettuce. It's our second time going to a rail car dinner.

My girlfriend and I are on the way back from Shasta Caverns driving along the 5 Freeway northbound. We happen to run into this beautiful Jam of a restaurant and such a very cool atmosphere. You couldn't believe that you were allowed to dine in the trains but the warm fireplace live music and even a happy hour.
The food was delicious and the service was exceptional highly recommend to anybody looking for something out of the ordinary and very special.

Food and drinks: Salmon was cooked perfectly happy hour drinks were a great deal and perfect.

Noteworthy details: Live music and amazing atmosphere by a warm cozy fireplace

Love the railroad park resort! Easy online reservations, check in was super quick and easy, and the caboose is so fun! We had #25 that is an adult only caboose. The interior is done in knotty pine. theres a little microwave, fridge, and tv. (pro tip- if you need a fan look in the side of one of the closets, theres a box fan that blends into the dark) The grounds are beautiful with little bits of train things peppered around, as well as chairs to sit and take in the beauty of the woods.
No need to review the resturant as they are closing for a few weeks for remodel, but the food we had was great, and the waitresses were amazing- Susie, and the other waitress (best way to describe is she had her hair in fan type of bun) were so friendly and always running from one end of the bar car back to the kitchen, to the back of the dining car all night. The bar is fun with a guitar player on friday and sat nights. However (and this is the lower star rating on service) is the bartender with the slicked back pulled back hair, who was wearing a poofy black jacket on Sat night...Wow, us customers were definitly in her way. Almost like she was offened that we sat down at quarter to 8pm and wanted a cocktail and to listen to the live music. Her 'Pusher' cocktails were way different than other bar tenders there and super sour) At 8:03 she had all the mixers torn down, looked at our empty glasses and tossed the little clip board bill at us. We would have sat there for the last hour that the bar was supposedly open listened to the live music, and had a couple more of the $15/ea cocktails, but no, without words we were told to leave..That one bartender is about the only negative thing I can think about when it comes to this beautiful little resort.

We have visited Railroad Park Resort for the past 3 summers and just recently in November. We absolutely love this place. Its great for the kids as well. This place is now on our annual checklist of spots to visit every year. It is also very close to Mossbrae and Mccloud falls. You can even make a trip tp Burney falls if you would like. We will be visiting Railroad Park Resort for many years to come.

We have stayed in one of the train cars but we have also camped here twice. We absolutely love this park for camping. The sites are large and come with full hook ups. The grounds are groomed, the shade is abundant and the views of Castle Crags are stunning. Cocktails around a fire in the lounge is a cozy way to spend some time, and you won't want to miss having at least a few meals in the dining car - the food is excellent! Outside activities include trails foe walking and biking and the resort places various games throughout the grounds - corn hole, bocci ball, five in a row, etc. They also provide comfortable lawn chairs scattered through out with areas for group activities. A GREAT place to stay, camp and eat! ENJOY!!

This was our about 7 and 8th stay at the Railroad Park Resort. We stop there overnight to break up a long trip between Springfield, Oregon where we live, and either the SF Bay Area or Lake Tahoe. What an amazing concept they succeeded with in a peaceful, scenic location in the woods close to I-5. The reburbished cabooses are very comfortable motel rooms with comfy beds, good heating and air conditioning, nice bathrooms. Morning coffee. The dining car restaurant serves excellent food with a varied and eclectic menu. Probably one of the nicest stays in northern California. (We used to camp there with our 5th wheel trailer way back in the 1990's.)

Very disappointing customer service from our server, my family and I came here for lunch around 12 and most of the time when we were there there were no other people/customers.
When I asked her if she can take one picture of us, with attitude she answered saying “ I have stuff I have to do”
Then as she brought out all our food my brother asked if he can have more coffee and she responds “Mhm”
My mother in law also asked for balsamic vinaigrette and the server also replied “mhm”
The restaurant itself is amazing! My husband and I came back in March and had an amazing experience for dinner, and the guy that was our server that day was awesome! Which is why we wanted to bring my parents and in laws here, but everyone was disappointed with the service from the lady that was our server.

We stayed at the RV campsite and really enjoyed our stay. The site was clean and we had plenty of space between us and our neighbors. The bathroom was also very clean and looked like they had been recently remodeled. We also had dinner at the Dining Car Restaurant and loved our food and had great service.

We wanted a nice stop 1/2 way between Bend and Sacramento and the Railroad Park did not disappoint!

The honeymoon car was roomy and full of interesting touches. The hot tub was clean and hot.

But best of all was a great dinner in their authentic railroad car restaurant. Excellent bar and table service. Excellent food.

The sax and rhythm jazz duo was perfect. Loved the bossa nova & posh classics from the 50s.

To top it off there was a Halloween haunted car (it was 10/29) it was lots of fun. The Adam’s Family Movie was playing on a big screen in the courtyard among the gas heaters.

Five Stars. A real gem of a place.

10 miles south of Mt Shasta. Gorgeous trails and waterfalls nearby.
