Our first time trying their food. They were the food vendor at Mt. Lowe Brewing Co. There was a little bit of a line, but it was cool to watch them make the food in front of you.
I decided to try something different from a burrito or taco. The gentleman that took my order was super nice and helpful.
I ordered:
1. Mulitas: It's a cheesy taco sandwich, and I chose to have chorizo in it. They chopped up a chorizo sausage, not like the one you make at home. It was so flavorful and juicy. I had this with everything on it. It was a flavor explosion with each bite.
2. Quesadilla w/ asada and adobada : I had everything on it, and it was a yummy messy goodness. It's very filling.
3. Watermelon agua fresca: Refreshing and a little too sweet for me.
I can't wait to come back soon to try the vampiros. This was s Tijuanan style of food I've never had before, and it's amazing. It was reasonably priced as well. I highly recommend you to try.
Bad attitude, the water stand old woman gave us bad attitude.
Fire! 🔥
This is my go to spot nearby for tacos TJ style, super casual and if you’re not wanting to sit down bc they’re only set up to stand and eat with a few tables under a tent.
Most of the meats are decent, not always as flavorful as expected unfortunately. If you go when they’re not so busy sometimes the stuff doesn’t feel as fresh/tasty. So that’s the only reason why I can’t ever give them 5 stars bc they’re not consistent.
* the staff at this outdoor stationary spot in the parking lot I’d always nice.
*** They’re CASH ONLY***
They have a Menu posted on the side for ordering:
Prices as of Feb 2025:
$3 tacos
$12 burritos
$7 large drinks
On Tuesdays: $2 tacos — it’s a deal! :)
I stopped by a couple weeks ago and didn't have cash and they didn't take card so I was told that I could zelle them which I did. Today I came by and forgot they take cash only and this lady charged me $3 extra for using zelle. I told her I wasnt charged anything extra last time and she said they have a different system. Basically just bullshitting me. Food is great but definitely left a bitter taste.
This use to be the spot to get my taco fix, now its a hit or miss, its been missing more than hitting in my opinion lately. Ever since they brought ALPASTOR to their menu, they lost their touch on the ADOBADA! Which was their signature meat! The seasoning isint there anymore, the chubby lady charging is hella rude, when asked for certain things. The taco is still TJ style, but it doesn't quite taste like a piece of Tj anymore! I was driving from Pomona area all they down here for this spot, thats how good it was, was worth the time and drive to come all the way here for the experience... NOT anymore. It had a good run... either way I keep wishing them success in their business. There's always room for improvement.
Don Cuco used to be a great spot for late night cravings, but the last couple of times I’ve been, it’s been disappointing. The meat was tough. I ordered two vampiros and both had burnt tortillas. It feels like another place that made it big and now doesn’t try as hard or care. It's sad.
Good place
