This place was okay. The people are very nice, but the food is not healthy. Classic American dining experience. I'd recommend now and then if you're close, but don't go too far out of your way if you're far

Food is ok. Staff are overwhelmed and the place looks like it just survived a tornado. I am a vet and they offer a vet discount. I asked and the server told me I was already getting the "Special" and did not apply the discount.b

Came to ihop for a relaxing evening last Thursday 02/27/25. 5 o’clockish .
The young person who seem to be running things told us it would be a minute, after five minutes she came back to us and said I can seat you now but it would be another 30 minutes before you can order…what’s the point she could have told us when we walked in that it’s going to be a wait because she said it’s not her fault I’m the only one working here! Fine, but be professional when you talk to customers don’t start talking like your out on the streets when your called on your unprofessional behavior!! Won’t be coming to this ihop.
Thank you, my brother likes it, I only come cause he’s paying!! The food is not that great any ways!! Then having poor service,
Doesn’t sit well with me.

Food was good. I was able to get a nice, very full, 3 egg white omelet with spinach mushroom tomatoes and a pretty topping of Avocado slices.
(The old cholesterol needs to come down, so it was my best bet)
Decent size fruit cup.
Didn't have that "cooked on a grill with layers of grease from a hundred other breakfasts" taste.

Also added the Fluffy French Toast, which seems to be my "latest craving - could eat it anytime food." (I cheated. Just half the slice)

And the bread is "fluffy!" At least the size of 2 big slices of regular bread. Different & good.

I loved my waitress, Lizzie. She had the sweetest smile and was very attentive to our table and extras we would need.

The menu looks newer and it's a nice upgrade they did. Also, a nice change from eating at another
Diner favorite a lot.

This IHOP on North Second Street/Oakdale, El Cajon, is my favorite one & I would recommend it.
It can be noisy when the kids are eating, but, hey, so is Disneyland!

The food was great. Cozy atmosphere and good service up until tt was time to leave. Then we wAited and waited for the check and waited some more to get it paid.

Dietary restrictions: Their pancakes are always delicious. We also built our own omelet with mushrooms, green onions, bell peppers, spicy sausage and shredded cheddar. It was fresh and delicious.

It was dinner time and the restaurant had only couple of patrons in there, but I was acknowledged promptly by a man who let me take a menu to my car so that I could show my client what was on the menu. We were ordering to go. When I returned, he took my order and let me know the wait would be @ 15mins. I asked a question about accepting EBT cards for payment and he told me that I couldn’t use that there and I expressed to him that I saw someone using a food stamp card a few weeks prior. He told me no because it was a privately owned cafe and that could be the reason why they don’t accept this type of payment. I didn’t like the fact that he didn’t ask any other co worker about said question.

Kid-friendliness: It could be a kid friendly place, that night was not it.

Wheelchair accessibility: If I had my clients w/c with us co, we would have dined in.

I came here with my family a few weeks ago and I enjoyed my meal very much. The portions are big, and the food always tastes great. I left feeling full and satisfied. The omelets are amazing, and honestly, I think everything here tastes great.

Kid-friendliness: yes, yummy food and friendly servers
