This is the ONLY PLACE I have ever went for Chinese cuisine!!! We haven't went in a while and found ourselves there today and once again I felt like I was home with family. My daughter is 30 yrs old and the first time I went there to eat with my kids and they were about 6 years old and this is the only place I will go. The food is extremely fresh and cooked to order. Chen's Golden Palace in El Cajon is a culinary gem that has been serving delicious and authentic Asian cuisine for over 25 years. The warm and welcoming staff, led by Ann, provide excellent service that makes every visit feel like coming home. The lemon chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and orange chicken are bursting with flavor, while the salt and pepper wings offer a tantalizing crunch, despite some customers noting they are not always perfect. The hot sweet and sour soup and egg flower soup are perfect for a chilly day. The pork dumplings, veggie and chicken egg rolls, and fragrant fried rice are all little parcels of joy that never disappoint. The food is cooked to delicious perfection with very generous portions, often leaving diners satisfied and with leftovers for later. Chen's commitment to freshness and made-to-order dishes shines through in every bite. This cash-only restaurant focuses on incredible flavors and shared meals, making each visit a cherished memory worth savoring. The staff's friendly attitude and the inviting atmosphere contribute to a memorable dining experience.
