“Excellent food! Gracious proprietors and very brave for starting up this little restaurant as a new concern only in the last couple of months. The Indian food places I liked in my neighborhood for the last 30 years have all closed and I was looking something new. I ordered six items and each one of them was spectacular. These hard-working people KNOW how to present Indian food at its best. The Aloo Gobi was a flavorful surprise--the potatoes were so delicate---- and the Lamb Curry perfect. The Garlic Naan, I can predict my big Hawaiian husband and I will fight over. I'll just have to order more. Try the Rogan Josh--you will be so pleased.....and the Palak Paneer, my favorite! I think I could just lose all control and order ten of them. So much to admire when a new eatery concern takes on the restaurant world of San Francisco and be a success. Many locals and Federal Building employees were coming and going and the staff knew who they were and were so friendly.. You can eat in-house at the little spotlessly-clean tables or take something home as I did. I will return and because a regular because of the gracious and sweet greeting and service I received and the beyond-excellent food. THANK YOU!!!“
“I got the club sandwich and it was surprisingly really good! The waitress also suggested a cup of peaches, i had no idea i wanted that and it was good as well. Sadly i wanted the french dip or the American dip but they were out of french rolls but that just means i can come back and enjoy it another time. Cool American diner.“
“Everything was smackin except for the Mac n Cheese it was like greasy & too much seasoning for me. But I guess bcuz its 6 cheeses in it..Yeah I just like the Sharp Cheddar in mines I'm thinking. The Oxtail,Rice n Gravy,Yams & Cornbread was on point .But I am going back to try different things like the Prawns & Chicken “
“Always comfortable with good food and friendly staff. The main problem with Fat Apples is that you have to walk past huge pastry cases loaded with house-made pastries, cookies and pies. The specials are great. My favorite specials are the chicken schnitzel with their sublime spaetzel ( I've yet to encounter other such delicate spaetzel in the area) and anything with their salsa verde. You'll walk out satisfied and probably carrying a bag of those insidiously displayed cookies. Or a pastry. Or a pie.Vegetarian options: There's vegetarian pizza if you get there early enough. All salads can be made vegetarian and vegan, on request. Breakfast selections include a great garden scramble, which can be made vegan if you request no cheese.Parking: Parking can be difficult on a weekend morning. Popular place.Kid-friendliness: This is a favorite place with families. The menu is easy and inviting for kids. It's not unusual to see big family groups of multiple generations. People bring their kids for meals after they finish their kung fu lessons across the street. You just have to get the kids past the cookies.Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible with ramps, flat surfaces, large restrooms with safety rails.“
