Yes, they are open! Sawooei Thai is currently open for take out during the pandemic. We've been coming here since we moved to El Cerrito and they make tasty Thai food with very generous portions. The family is hard working and local. Please tip.

Pros: Food was ready right on time, meal was correct as I ordered, waitress was warm and friendly, location is half a mile from my home. Spring rolls were a 3.5/5. Cons: this was hands down some of the least tasty pad Thai I've ever had. Bland despite being overly spicy (I asked for mildly spicy), dry chicken and noodles, not enough peanuts and sparse veggies, didn't feel like it was made with love. Sad because I wanted to love this neighborhood restaurant, maybe because I arrived closer to closing time (8 pm?. May give it another go and report back.

I've been going to this Thai restaurant for years! Of all the Thai restaurants in the East Bay, this is one of the most authentic! And the price is very reasonable! Definitely worth trying if you're in the area!!

Very elegant and welcoming spot. They provide large meals and for economical rates. We enjoyed the menu very much and the staff were super personal and explanatory. Will definitely recommend this spot.

I’ve been eating here since I was a kid, I love it. Nothing beats the price, portions, and quality of this Thai food. I personally recommend the eggplant basil with tofu, it’s delicious.

We ordered Pad Se Ew, yellow curry and spicy fried rice for delivery after being on home lock down all week, and it was all bad. The Pad Se Ew was dry with chewy meat and had a really funky taste, the spicy fried rice was also dry, not very flavorful and the curry was just OK. We ended up covering all the food in the curry for flavor and it was edible, but overall it was very disappointing. I won't order from here again.

Great Place to take a date or just go for lunch. Prices for lunch are around $7 per entre, and appetizers under $8. We had a BBQ Chicken dish #12, an Eggplant dish #17, and a chicken appetizer plate. There is a small parking lot, but free street parking is usually available depending on time of the day. This place has been here a long time. It's one of the good Thai restaurants around this area.

Over-sweetened, white-washed Thai with low quality ingredients. Loud restaurant, lacking service.

Surprisingly authentic Thai place in a very weird location - in the parking lot of a motel and in a raised trailer. We ordered takeout and the food was pretty good!

We needed four large trays of food for 30 hungry high school students. We stopped by in advance and the Sa-Wooei staff helped us figure out a menu within our budget. The food was ready as promised, warm, well cooked, all delicious The kids loved it! We're grateful.
