The Copper Mug is a restaurant, taproom, and full bar. You'll notice that most of the reviews mention the owner, Kay. There's a reason for this. He personally greets nearly every customer that comes through the door an makes sure you feel welcome.
If you're looking for a great spot to eat, drink, hang out with friends, or meet someone new, the Copper Mug is the best spot in El Sobrante.
The food is a mix of Indian, Himalayan, and a few American comfort food appetizers. There's something for everyone, including vegetarians.
The taproom is impressive with 16 taps with some of the best breweries represented: Russian River, Ghost Town, and even Wonderous, which I've never seen sold anywhere besides the brewery in Emeryville.
They also have at least 100 different spirts, so if you're picky about your alcohol, you won't be disappointed.
And if you like mixed drinks, you're in for a treat. Kay, Ebony and Rachelle make excellent drinks. All the classics as well as new creations you won't find anywhere else.
Kay has also added wine to the offerings, so no matter what your friends like to drink, everyone in your group will be happy.

I’ve been meaning to write this review — we absolutely love this place! The food, drinks, and atmosphere are all fantastic. There’s also a great selection of beers to choose from, and Kay, the owner, is amazing. He is always friendly and gives great recommendations if you’re not sure what to eat or drink. We really appreciate this spot and wish there were more places like it in our neighborhood.

This is the new kid in town. With an amazing selection of beers and the myriad of cocktails that Kay can formulate, it is indeed turning out to be jewel of el sobrante. And of course with your beers don't forget to order pork momos.

The vibes here are immaculate. Kay was such an amazing host. His service went above and beyond. Such a connoisseur of his craft and you can tell he genuinely cares about this restaurant/bar. Kay introduced himself and cared to know our name as well. He knows his regulars and it’s a pleasant change of pace to the normal dining experience. Enjoyed a Monday night football game and an amazing meal. Not only will you find amazing local beers but the food here is spectacular. The menu is small but don’t let that keep you away. They know what they are doing. Highly recommend, they’ll take care of you.

First time coming to Copper Mug and I have to say, I am so happy I did! They have such a great ambiance and the owner Kay is extremely nice! The wide selection they have is quite literally unreal but they don’t stop there, they also have a full food menu ranging from finger foods to full entrees ! I got some butter chicken and garlic fries and they were both very yummy! I will ABSOLUTELY be coming back and recommend you check them out if you haven’t done so already!!
