This hole in the wall restaurant is the REAL DEAL!!! Food is absolutely delicious! I always find myself craving the black eyed peas and wish I can buy a huge pot of it and eat it throughout the week. You can feel and taste the authenticity!
I had a hankering for a decent shrimp Po' boy sandwich and I've found one at a affordable price to boot. For $11 you get the sandwich and a side. The sandwich was on a soft roll as it should be. All too often it's found on sourdough which isn't the same experience. I elected to have the black eyed peas which were good. I elected not to opt for coke slaw as it was on the sandwich. This is the original place that has been at Richmond for 20 years. The building was sold so they have now moved to this sports bar. The food is still the same great flavor, just perfect in every way. There are a lot more indoor seating as well and you have more drinks option as it is in a bar.
