Marhaba Halal Market & Restaurant Elk Grove offers excellent food with good customer service, where all the staff are nice people. The chicken shawarma is done in 10 minutes and comes with seasoned fries that are a little crispy and fresh. The chicken and beef kabobs are highly recommended, with Afghan food being number one. Prices are extremely good considering the amount of food purchased. The bread is extremely high quality and very authentic, while the meat is fresh and very affordable, much cheaper than at a grocery store. Food takes a little time to wait for, but it makes sense considering the authenticity, and portions are very big for the price. The combo kabob plate has beef and chicken, rice, salad and bread, all delicious at only 14 bucks after tax. The lamb and beef plate comes with hummus, salad, and a piece of pita, all piping hot with a really good white sauce on the meat. The chicken kabob is golden and juicy with markings of char, tasting fantastic. The gyro plate is equally excellent, with beef that isn't dry and flavorful lamb. The quantity and quality of the food are tremendous, making this little hidden grocery/restaurant better than 99% of others.
