First, I want to start by saying I order without knowing that The Meltdown is really just Denny’s. I would not have ordered had I known they were Denny’s. Ordered the giddy up melt combo for one of the meals. The picture is included. No pickles were included and the sandwich barely looked edible. The fries and the onion rings were soggy. The other meals were meh. My kids wouldn’t even eat the grilled cheese sandwiches. As for the service, our drinks were forgotten and they wouldn’t reimburse the cost of the drinks for the two combos that didn’t get the drinks. The lady at the counter told my husband she couldn’t help him because she wasn’t working and to go ask the “old guys” for help. They told him the order wasn’t ready and then some waitress came out of the bathroom and was able to help get the order. It was a very disappointing and bizarre experience with poor customer service and terrible food.

This was a complete let down. My burger was way, way overcooked! I called them to bring a burger that isn't overcooked. Of course they said no which is wrong!! They lost a customer that's for sure!!

It's a Dennys, sounds kinda fishy. Looks too much like a SCAM to me. I'LL PASS!

I went to this Denny's location two Fridays in a row, hoping the experience I had the first time was just a fluke. On both occasions there were very few other customers there, now I might know the reasons why. The interior design is such that the employees have limited ability to see the entrance or all the tables unless they purposely walk laps around the place. We had to wait at the entrance to be seated and to pay both times, and to get the server's attention when additional napkins or condiments were needed as no one could see us. I ordered the same meal both times, asking specifically for WELL DONE, CRISPY MEATS and HASH BROWNS, and DARK toast. On the first visit, my meal was barely tepid as if it had been prepared and then sat awhile before it was served, the hash browns were still white, and the bacon and sausages were somewhat edible but not cooked enough for my taste. Yesterday's meal arrived warm (not hot or aromatic), the "toast" looked like sourdough bread taken right out of the package, the bacon was cold and rubbery and the greasy sausages were still pink in the middle. The hash browns were crspy, brown and tasty (yea!). It appears that both the number of customers and attentive staff have diminished, and that the cooks are either not listening to, or getting and acting on (at least) this customer's requests. The childrens'meals brought us to Denny's as my grandchildren enjoy the food options AND the crayons, coloring and puzzles. For me, when paying for a meal at a restaurant, I expect and hope to be served what I specifically requested whenever possible. Next time I will choose a locally owned diner instead of Denny's. Please do better!

We're here from a galaxy far, far away, described as 50miles NW of Chicago, but known locally as BFE. We ordered delivery to our hotel room this evening and the food arrived quickly and still hot. The sandwiches were amazing! Please open a Meltdown in NE IL. Please.

The Meltdown is the bomb - mouthwatering warm cheesy meat that melts in your mouth. Not a big fan of melts in general but this place has won me over.

The odd thing about the Meltdown is that it doesn't exist. Don't bother getting in the car and driving here unless you love Dennys. The Meltdown is a virtual restaurant operated by Dennys and their food can only be ordered online via Doordash or other food delivery service.

Parking: This is a virtual restaurant only.

Ordered via postmates. They forgot my fries, sandwiches were slapped together lazily with hardly any cheese and one tiny piece of of chicken on my sandwich, and it wasn't the right kind of sandwich either. I ordered a different sandwich!! I go lt rock hard, cold blackened chicken. I ordered Nashville hot. They forgot the fries and the food was cold for every single order. Eas it even cooked?! Because it was delivered pretty fast!!! Threw it away. I'll be stopping by to talk to the manager and whatever slapstick made this dumpster food. The food looks nothing like the pictures. Not even sure there was any cheese on it at all!!
