Wow. This place is unique to say the least . We had no idea what to expect but had a truly memorable experience. We went after dark so no view. Didn't know if we would make it out alive. When we drove up we thought this place was a fire truck graveyard. The bar is definitely a dive but the owner has stories for days and the few folks inside were super friendly and definitely different. Go with an open mind and if you can get past the dive bar smell of old socks your good. Glad we went but probably won't become regulars.

What an experience. Total Mendocino. Total small town. The owner BK is there and he has the best stories of CA and his lifestyle as a local and logger for his whole life. They have a very extensive menu. Only hope. Fri and Sat 5-10p. No food served.

I don't know how anyone could not give this place 5 stars, it's such a unique experience. Although it is does have an epic view, the real reason to go is the owner- Robert Beacon. Guy is a treasure and full of some great stories and is very appreciative of anyone that stops by for a drink. Don't miss it if you're in the area.

Pathetic excuse for a bar... Dingy hole in the wall, but not in a good way. I love a spot off the beaten path, but this is not the spot. If you want to go to a bar run by an white supremacist, who bought the bar with his dads money and thinks he is a big fish in a small pond than by all means this is your bar.

Visited this bar a long time ago at least 10 years ago, was told about it by a local, we were visiting from Texas, I was there for the Mendecino whale=wine festival, and this was before cell phones were the norm, but some how we found this place after getting directions and me and the girls I was with loved the place and needless to say the two girls I was with became the attraction for that evening, they were hot, young and very nice all the guys were talking to them, but like I said this place is exactly what I want in a dive bar on the coast great views, strong cheap drinks and kool people, there isn't a day goes by when I visit other dive bars and compare them to this bar love this place

the best hidden bar on the coast

You will never be in a bar like this in your life- great drinks view to die for, and a cast of characters that come in and out will keep you from staring at you the olive. Just some hometown good people and drinks- If you are like Sally F. (another reviewer) looking for Disneyland in a dive bar and have some magical vibes that work only detecting people and not picking winning lotto numbers, this might not be a place for you. So you want a dive bar without the dive? Also, I do not go there to vote, pray or find anything else other than a good drink and a good view -

Enjoyed this place! Mr Beacon was a gracious host and a pleasure to meet. A wealth of local history! Great view! We will be back

Must stop if you pass by this place on Hwy 1. The definition of hole in the wall with lots of locals with many stories to tell. R.D Beacon is the man and let us grill some steaks on his grill while sipping on $3 Modellos with unequalled view. Best local bar on the coast with impressive selection of drinks and liquor. I'm outraged it does get more traffic, go check it out ✅

I celebrated my nomination earlier this evening in this great place. I am glad to say that we had a marvelous evening and the restaurant was undoubtedly the reason for this successful meeting. The crew cooperated in a gorgeous way, the cooking was extremely good and my friends were extremely joyful. We shall absolutely return for more celebrations. thanks very much.

A must stop if you happen to be in the area on Friday or Saturday, because they only open on Friday and Saturday. Well worth the trip. The views, the drinks, the stories from the owner... Highly recommend!
