Coming from NYC, it's hard finding a deli that can live up to my standards. This place hits, I highly recommend a stop if you're hungry and in the area. “I never loved Beach Hut Deli growing up. But I have a theory…a vegan theory….and it goes like this: When you’re craving a particular food, even if it’s not something you traditionally love - you can say no to it once. But the craving can return, and it gets stronger each time. One of the most difficult things for me since going vegan has been the growing cravings for food whose itch can’t be scratched. And then enters Beach Hut Deli in DOCO. I never even knew I wanted a vegan surfin bird - but I got it folks. And it’s exactly how I remember it. And my itch is SO scratched, even though I didn’t know it was there. The owner is amazingly sweet, and I’m so proud of him for what he’s done. You just have to STAN the guy. He even invented a Beach Hut tempeh sandwich! The Oreo cheesecake will blow your mind. Beach Hut should see what he’s doing and bring these vegan items to ALL locations. “Please put price tags on each individual piece of meat or sausage that you are selling anytime I try to buy anything from the deli it is like a 10-minute conversation. Why are you torturing your employees and me. Please buy tiny toothpicks signs or erasable ones. Also more sour cream and onion Flint snacks they always sell out 5x faster then the other ones.“

“My favorite beach hut without a doubt. My work schedule usually leaves me just minutes before they close. and they're always extremely nice and polite, never give me any grief for being last minute, and sometimes even bring the sandwich out to my truck and lock the front door behind them. Also, it's hard to beat the $1 day old bread.“

“Their sourdough is truly delicious—and since it’s been too hot to make my own this summer, WC sourdough is a welcome alternative purveyor. I’ve only tried and fallen for these sandwiches: chicken salad & turkey cranberry. But my parents raved about their salads and after taking bites, I gotta say their Greek and South west salads are so yummy! All of their ingredients are super fresh and everything is prepared to order and we can taste the difference.
