I first heard about this place because Zendaya once mentioned it as one of her favorite spots in the Bay Area. After visiting, I can definitely see why it’s so popular. The bakery was busy, the bread was fresh, pastries were still warm, and everything smelled amazing. Whenever I visit a new bakery, I always order a croissant because that’s my way of judging how good a bakery is. This time, I got the chocolate croissant and a carrot muffin. The chocolate croissant was good, but not the best I’ve had in the Bay. I wish it had been flakier, with more layers and a richer buttery flavor. The carrot muffin was okay too. My mom liked it, but it just wasn’t my favorite. That said, the prices are affordable, and it’s still a solid bakery overall. So, I’d still stop by if I were in the area.

Great bakery, the only problem is that the staff is often so interested in the escapades of their co-workers, that they ignore the customers, are often rude and place vegan chocolate mint cookies in the same bag ( without any pastry sheets) with Onion Bialys!!!

this bakery has my heart and soul. i am so glad i live in this neighborhood just to come here every morning. i quite like my job so i generally like mondays but now they are the worst day of the week because arizmendi is closed. every monday i wake up so sad. every other day, arizmendi motivates me get out of bed early every day so that I can get things while they are still warm.
i am vegan and am so so so glad this bakery has vegan options: two vegan muffins and one vegan cookie (and of course all the bread). the banana walnut muffin is my absolute favorite and i would eat it every day if i had better metabolism. i also love the wolverine rolls. and so glad everything is so reasonably priced! I feel like so many bakeries would sell these pastries for double the amount and it would not be realistic to come here every day.
feedback: i wish they could add a vegan scone, i think i would cry and cry and cry forever. I also wish the foccacia was less oily and had more marinara sauce (not a big fan of the plain ones) and more veggies! also I have tried the hummus and thought it was too lemon-y and not good.
overall i am so grateful for arizmendi. best part of inner sunset!! thank you arizmendi!

This was a beautiful place. Their whole bakery is really good. I need to try their pizza, the chocolate chip cookie was my favorite aswell as the sourdough chocolate croissant 🥐 I will be coming here more often I highly recommend especially since the workers are really nice 😊

Checked out this longstanding bakery directed by a local, 2 blocks south from the Botanical Garden in the Golden Gate Park. That area of 9th street is filled with interesting shops, restaurants, grocery stores.
The line was out of the door as the bakery display area was small.
Quickly got a few things as not easy to look through all the items leisurely once in it. Their sliced pizzas are well-known but it was not for me then.
The cashier that day seemed to be more friendlier to the regular customers.

We stopped by Arizmendi Bakery for what was supposed to be a quick dessert, but it turned into one of those unexpected food memories that stays with you. We originally came in just to grab something sweet, but ended up trying the masala pizza — and we are so glad we did.
The masala pizza was truly unique. The flavor was different from anything we expected, in the best way possible. It had this addictive taste that made us want to keep going back for another bite. It was flavorful, creative, comforting, and memorable all at once. You can tell there is real thought behind the ingredients and the way everything comes together.
The desserts were also excellent. Everything we tried was fresh, delicious, and satisfying. Each item had that bakery-quality taste where you can feel the care in every bite. It is the kind of place where you walk in thinking you will just grab one thing, and then suddenly everything looks too good to pass up.
Overall, Arizmendi Bakery was a wonderful surprise. Great desserts, an unforgettable masala pizza, and a warm bakery experience that made us very happy we stopped in.
