(Review from a few months back ...) I recently visited this spot for breakfast and was disappointed by the lack of filling in the sandwich I ordered. For $8, I expected a little more than just a slice of bread, egg, and bacon. There were no veggies, dressing, or sauce to add any flavor or texture. The sandwich felt dry and unsatisfying. To make matters worse, the coffee from the large vat of beans/hot water was similarly disappointing in both price and quality. However, despite the lackluster breakfast options, this place could still be a great spot to hang out with friends or get some work done. It's a shame to see the quality go down in the last year, as I've heard good things about this place before. Hopefully, they can improve their menu and bring back the flavors and variety they were once known for. Until then, I wouldn't recommend coming here for breakfast, but maybe just for a change of scenery or to grab a cup of coffee.(Nope no veggies or dressing or sauce)

I recently started a job nearby. I ordered this on doordash and absolutely loved it. They didn’t have an option for iced chai, only hot. But I put a note in asking it to be iced and they did. The bagel with banana and peanut butter was fantastic. Overall will order this more often.

Everything bagel with lox is on point. Breakfast sandwich on Texas toast is what a breakfast sandwich should be - a little greasy, and a lot flavorful. It feels a bit like they might be struggling with some of the business closures in the neighborhood, and so are a bit understaffed and trying to reduce food waste by limiting how much they bake. I don’t mind, and I think it’s all the more reason to support this awesome little spot.

I fond finally a good chilaquiles for lunch, service good, fast and fair price. Other options that were not in Internet menu, maybe the upper area will be available soon, books to read but mostly super heroes cartoon.

Ugh, I'm irritated right now so maybe hopefully I'll delete later, but these guys are f*ing idiots.

Went in for a bagel on a Sunday morning around 10:45a. One other order ahead of mine. Still waiting for said bagel now at 11:25. Not sure what’s going on but avoid!!! Not worth the hour long wait for a coffee hole in the wall!

I was really craving a bagel and a coffee this morning so I decided to check this place out since it's close to where I work. Immediately when I walked in I was not impressed. The floors looked dirty and in general the place looked like it hadn't seen a good deep clean in a while. I thought "well if the food is good I don't mind". But I was also disappointed there. As soon as I looked at the bagels I knew something was off. They were clearly made fresh but they seemed deflated. And then when I ate it, the dough was very dense. I suspect they were under-proofed or the yeast was not healthy. It also was quite bland despite it being an onion bagel. The cream cheese also did not wow me. It tasted like they just bought it by the bucket.I did get a vanilla latte on the side, which to my surprise was actually not bad (also not anything remarkable), so I cannot fault them too much there. The man who was working also just seemed tired and like he did not want to be there. Unfortunately, I don't think I will return. It's a shame because I think this place has a lot of potential but it sounds like the pandemic has taken a toll on yet another small business.

Great place. HUGE sandwich. Got the chicken pesto and it was basically two meals! Strong coffee. Like so many places in our industry, proper staffing is incredibly difficult to find, and then workers reap people’s confusion and anger over a problem the establishment has literally no control over. The guy at this cafe does pretty much everything by himself. If you are patient: you will be rewarded with an amazingly huge and tasty sandwich for not much money. If you are impatient… well, you should go work on you. Big shout out to all the independent cafes and restaurants in the Bay that are working hard through the tough times. (No, the pandemic certainly isn’t anywhere close to over for this industry. Please be kind.)

Not sure what happened in the last year but quality seems to have gone down. Paid $8 for a slice of bread, egg, and bacon :(Coffee from the large vat of beans/hot water is similarly priced and quality. Great place to hangout but maybe not for breakfast(Nope no veggies or dressing or sauce)

First time eating here, just wanted some food and caffeine before work. I had high hopes, I wanted to like this place, but sadly nothing did it for me. I ordered a bagel sandwich, and my avocado was mostly brown and old:( Also my "iced mocha" was just coffee water with some syrup and no ice, very watery:( the only reason I'm giving another star is because they replaced my bagel sandwich and drink. I got a cappuccino instead which also had a "watery" quality. I don't think they know how to do espresso here.

Had a good sandwich there, but the negative is that front door is open and there are flies inside in the baked goods display, really needs to b a lid on it. Went there saturday at 0830 and there were only a handful of bagels avail. Some were being prepared but for a place boasting about their bagels need to have some in stock for breakfast. Was there the following monday at 0900 and there were only 10 bagels and most were very thin for a bagel and more flies, will find another bagel place

Had a really subpar experience. Saw a sign for their Taiyaki and decided to try it. Service was abysmal. I felt like the guy really wanted me to leave. Maybe that's only on Saturday around noon, because I see other reviews touting friendly service. But this was exceptional, so much so that I had to leave a review which I rarely do. Eventually I received my Taiyaki and when I thanked the guy he literally grimaced at me. Food wasn't great, very undercooked and mushy. I'm guessing it was supposed to be something like taiwanese waffles but it was undercooked so not crispy or light or pleasant. Will definitely skip Dee Spot going forward.

Great spot for a morning bagel if you're nearby.Edit: unfortunately the quality has declined somewhat. Last time I went most of the bagels were under cooked, and many of the baked goods had flies on them. Cute spot and nice interior. I hope they can improve!
