Deluxe is more than enough for two people. The katsu is juicy and crispy, the sauces aren’t overtly sweet, and the rice is well cooked.

I ordered a $50 pickup today, and I have to say, it was a major disappointment. For $30 per box, I received one large box full of rice and mashed potatoes with only two small pieces of katsu. My family barely got to enjoy it—each of us took just two bites. For that price, I expected much more.
We also ordered the cheesy katsu, which came with a ton of rice and mashed potatoes, and only two small katsu balls, cut in half, for $20. It felt like a joke.
Overall, I’m really disappointed with the value for the price. I won’t be ordering from here again.
Updated my review to 3 stars instead of one because of their quick reply. Thank you for their explanations on this case.
Be aware, this place is a food hall and no one will help you. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE. Again, do not order from here. The screen kept saying the food is delayed without other message and we have waited for over 30 mins and the food has never gotten out and no one will help you.
There is no one picked up the phones from phone numbers on the website and email.

I’ve been craving a plate of juicy katsu for a while! I was so excited to see a katsu restaurant in my area and placed my first order a couple of days ago. I ordered a deluxe deungshim plate - good value but I would have liked less rice and more katsu. The rice was fresh, the cabbage + dressing was SO crisp and yummy, and the potato salad was light and creamy. The miso soup was miso soup!
Sadly, the deungshim katsu was pretty disappointing. I expected a thick cut that was pink in the middle as the restaurant’s website advertises. Instead we got a thin white piece of pork that was pretty dry on its own. Thankfully the breading was excellent and the dipping sauce helped make up for the dryness.
The website isn’t super clear on the difference between anshim and deungshim but after way too much Googling, I believe I should have received a fattier and thicker cut of meat. I’m giving Jungdon Katsu 3 stars because I’m willing to give this place another shot but they definitely didn’t satisfy my katsu craving.
Been ordering from Jungdon for a while now and figured it's time for a review. I always order one of their Deluxe sets - Anshim is my go to and Deungshim is 2nd fav since I like my katsu a bit chewy. Tried the chicken and cheese katsu too but they're just ok imo.
~$30 a set sounds high at first but I can easily have it over 2-3 meals, which is awesome.
Flavor is also consistent - Always love how the potato salad, cabbage slaw, sauces and katsu come together! Miso soup is a great addition too given East Bay is quite often a bit cold.

Hard day? Nothing makes it better than ordering takeout of the literal BEST chicken katsu in the East Bay.
I like to order myself the Deluxe Chicken Katsu whenever I’ve had a tough day, and it always makes it better. The $32 price tag feels a bit steep at first, but the amount of food that comes with it is easily enough for two people — or, in my case, a dinner and a lunch for they next day.
Two perfectly flaky and crispy chicken breasts, three scoops of rice, two scoops of their house potato salad, a miso soup, and a generous heap of finely shredded cabbage with a sour vinaigrette. It’s the perfect dressing to cut the heavy chicken and savory katsu sauce. Every texture is unique and works well with the others, making for a delightfully varied meal.
I’ve only ever ordered from here online, but I imagine the service and ambience matches the same level of clean, simple detail that the food so perfectly nails.

While the portions used to be more generous, I've noticed they've become smaller recently :(

Deluxe chicken Katsu is the best ;) two people portion. This is by far the closest taste to what I ate in Japan and Hawaii. I wish they have their own front shop so we can eat them when it really hot and crispy ? keep up the good work.

Got the chicken Katsu take out. Meat was absolutely tender, the breading is out of this world. Probably the best katsu I've ever

The Chicken Katsu and Pork Katsu are fried to perfection; I've had katsu at over 40 restaurants in the Bay Area, Japan, and Hawaii, and these are among the best in terms of texture and crunch. Unfortunately, it isn't very flavorful.I picked up this order from a ghost kitchen location.

My friends said it was the BEST katsu and they were right!!! After taking it over to my place the pork was still warm and crispy. I will definitely be stopping by soon! And to the people complaining, DUH, it’s a ghost kitchen. Get over it. Not all businesses can’t have or want a brick & mortar. No smashed windows with ghost kitchens.

Please beware that this is not an actual storefront, as it's part of a ghost kitchen where many other restaurants also operate out of. I was not aware of this and was surprised to find a narrow hallway with lockers and nobody to greet me upon entering. I ordered on the tablet and I believe some of the pictures are wrong, as the pork tenderloin option seemed to resemble the loin option. This resulted in me not getting the kind of cut I wanted. It took 15-20 min to get my food. When I got the text saying it was ready there was nobody at the counter to give it to me and I had to knock on the wall to get someone's attention. The employees at the ghost kitchen are not the most professional. On the positive side, the food is quite solid and the katsu is very crispy. Meat quality is good, but nothing mind-blowing. The cheese katsu option only comes with 4 pieces, which seemed a bit light given the price. Unfortunately my overall experience wasn't great and I won't be returning. If this got turned into an actual brick and mortar restaurant I think I would've enjoyed it much more.

I wondered why pork katsu was more expensive than other places. But when I got it it was enough food for two people. Two crispy, tender filet and well worth it. Will be back to try other things.
