Love this coffee company! McLaughlin's quality, roasts and flavor options surpasses Peet's and other local and shipped coffee companies I have tried. Their website's interface is intuitive, user friendly, easy to navigate and limit to favorite roasts or browse all available.I signed up for the newsletter and each month I receive a discount code towards a coffee purchase along with additional promotions and discounts - so worth the extra email and there is no limit to purchase. Pickup for your item(s) purchased is super easy and can be made same day if placed early enough (time is on website), next business day for pickup up or shipped. Their location is in Emeryville and super easy to access off the freeway or from Ashby street area. It's near the Chevron over the bridge leaving from Emeryville Bay or Marketplace. Parking can be a bit but easy to manage. The pickup window can be easily missed, so look for the sign that reads PICKUP. The company is on the corner of 64th and Hollis. There is no in store shopping as it is only a pickup location and orders have to be placed in advance. Worth the drive and time. Be mindful of the daily lunch scheduled closure other than that ...Enjoy! I always do!

My wife and I own Bravos Break coffee shop and we use McLaughlin’s Espresso Maximo and Abbie’s Blend beans. They were, by far, the best quality beans in the area. Not only is their quality excellent, they are also great people with awesome customer service. They go above and beyond for their customers. 10/10 recommend!

Been drinking their coffee for 10-years now. Family Run. Friendly. Community oriented. You'll find something from them you love. But don't take my word for it. They just celebrated their 40th anniversary!!!

I have been drinking McLaughlin coffee for more than 10 years, and is the gift my friends love to get. I got to meet the owners and some of the people that work there when I was working in a coffee shop, they are really incredible people. If you have a question about the coffee and are trying something new or wondering how to properly brew a cup, don’t be afraid to ask them.Is a local roaster in Emeryville CA, if you live close enough, just pick it up and you get a chance to smell the fresh roasted coffee.

Love this coffee company. They ship me 2 lbs at a time-I've tried other brands lately and I honestly think this it the best-I get Max's Blend. Its dark, rich and makes me happy!

Good coffee. What more can I say about it. It is flavorful and I prefer it not be burned.

Although I have been dimly aware of McLaughlin Coffee for some time, it didn't occur to me until recently that they might be roasting coffee at the level of Bay Area roasters like Ritual or Four Barrel. The turning point for me was the observation that Nabolom Bakery has been selling McLaughlin coffee during the pandemic. I purchased a pack of Mexico organic at the Monterey Market last week. The coffee was freshly roasted when I bought it, and it was noticeably cheaper than the coffee that I had been buying. When it came time for the taste test, McLaughlin passed--with flying colors. I like the coffee a lot and plan to try other flavors (roasts) when I see them for sale.

McLaughlin has been my go-to place for home brewed coffee for the past couple years. Their beans are freshly roasted with amazing aromas and taste consistently. I have tried many varieties of beans from them and have been quite satisfied so far. I always walked up to pick up from the Emeryville location. Will continue to buy their beans for sure!

About eight months ago started looking into smaller roasteries and found McLaughlin. They sell wholesale and retail. Lucky me! They have a large selection of organic whole beans and lots of options - blends, single origin, fair trade beans. Their online ordering system is easy and my order is usually ready within a couple of days. It's a quick drive, easy street parking and I pick up from their window at the side of the building. I am looking forward to drinking my way through their offerings. Some of the bean sources might change up so when I receive an email, I'll check to see if there is something special to try. Fair prices, excellent customer service, friendly people here. Being able to brew up an espresso or a great cup of coffee certainly starts off the day on a good foot.

If this is the producer of Ellis St. Hawaiian Blend whole roasted beans, I give them two thumbs up. This stuff is the best Hawaiian-Blend whole roasted beans I have had in ages!!!

I have been enamored of their Guatemalan roasted beans since I was a teenager drinking the coffee at Royal Grounds on college aka Cole Coffee! Now since that was a long time ago, and lots of other coffee has come on to the scene. I would like to say the Guatemalans robust flavor has never been supplanted by another bean. A lifelong aficionado of the particular dark earthy chocolate notes followed by just the right amount of piquant coffee berry flavor- perfection!

Hello. I’ve tried McLaughlin Coffee for the first time today at one of my employer’s accounts. I’m the beverage tech and coffee specialist and have been in the coffee industry for 20 years. I looked up McLaughlin Coffee and see many great reviews as far as customer service, friendly atmosphere, customer’s favorite blends, many love the Sumatra blend. Here they have the Max’s Blend and the Espresso. I have to give my expert opinion. Max’s Blend is over roasted, way too dark. The beans are glossy from the oils coming out from over roasting. May I suggest cutting back on the roasting time just a little? The oils should stay contained within the bean so that they’re released during the brewing process giving the profile an even better flavorful rich balance of woodsy, Smokey finish without tasting like charbucks. OopsYour espresso blend is nice and well balanced. I didn’t have to do too much calibration on the grinder or the brewer to compensate for the over roasting of the Max Blend. I’m curious to try the Sumatra that most of the customers posted reviews about.

This is based on the Max blend. If you're gonna shelter in place might as well do it right. Last month I tried a 12 ounce bag and now I am purchasing 2 pound bags. This coffee is hella good and I use a basic Mr Coffee machine. I normally drink coffee with creamer but when I run out I can drink this coffee black. Customer service is top notch. I messed up with my last order and Joanna took care of my error. Easy to pick up during Covid.
