We had food here, but it was not like authentic Indian food. The makki roti was very hard, and the paneer makhani was too sweet. It also seemed like the curry was not cooked properly. People who are Indian can easily tell if the food is freshly made and fully cooked. They should train their chef on how to cook authentic Indian food.

Honestly sunrises by how nice the ambience is very time and how good the food is. You can see the golden gate bridge in distance. Part of the resturant is open to outdoor and part indoor but it is very quiet and zen

Pipal offers excellent and unique food, comforting ambiance, and attentive service. I've dined here several times including with my colleagues for two team dinners. If necessary, the staff will identify which dishes can be made vegan. Plant based guests have been satisfied. I especially enjoy the opportunity to feel the sunset while dining at or near the patio. It may be possible to see the sunset behind the Golden Gate Bridge. I look forward to my next meal here.

We’ve been to Pippal several times. We especially enjoy the pippal dal and the paneer makhani. The beetroot roti is also excellent.
The atmosphere is upscale yet warm and inviting.
The service is top notch. The general manager, Salman, always checks in on us when we dine here. And the wait staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and welcoming.

The atmosphere was beautiful. It was easy to conceded. However, the server symptom uncomfortable and walked away from us abruptly multiple times did not really engage prioritize other customers that came in after us we were waiting for service. Eventually, we got frustrated and walked out. It took them 20 minutes to realize that we weren’t at our table and we had went to another restaurant absolutely terrible service. They are not equitable and they do not serve all of the populations just certain populations very disappointed in this environment in Emeryville and how they treat the natives of Oakland.

We went at opening for lunch on Friday at 11:30. We often visit Indian restaurants in the area. This place was a disappointment. The fish curry was salty, unbalanced and not authentic to Kerala. we also ordered the Nagaland lamb curry, and found huge chunks of galangal in the food that deceptively looked like the pieces of meat in the curry. We kept biting into these pieces and kept having to spit them out. For being over $30 a plate, it was an extremely disappointing experience. We did appreciate that the chef did come to speak with us and apologize about the food.
