The Arancini are the best I’ve ever had.

Serviceable pizza, good taste but needs to be crispier. Service was a bit slow considering there weren’t that many folks inside the restaurant at the time we ate.
Would consider coming back again!

I visited Pizzeria Mercato on Sunday with family and friends, and the experience was extremely disappointing.
We went straight to the counter to order, planning to eat inside the Public Market. I asked for spaghetti for the kids—something we've had at this location in the past—and the man behind the counter laughed and said, “We don’t sell spaghetti,” as if it was a ridiculous question. I then asked about gnocchi, and he replied again with attitude: “We don’t have that.”
At that point, I politely said, “Well, why don’t you teach us the correct names then?” trying to ease the tension, but it was clear he was already frustrated with us. We ended up ordering a basic pasta with red sauce and a garlic bread to-go for my son.
After eating in the market, we realized they had closed before I could pick up the garlic bread. I returned another day to explain the situation and ask for a refund for the garlic bread ($13.23), and was met with even worse customer service. The man behind the counter was extremely rude and clearly lacked training. Instead of handling the refund professionally, he got visibly upset, pulled money out of his own wallet, slammed it on the counter, and said sarcastically, “Here’s $13.25—keep the change,” before walking off.
I left feeling humiliated and disrespected for simply asking to be refunded for an item I never received. Pizzeria Mercato seriously needs to retrain their staff in basic customer service and professionalism.

The carbonara has heavy cream. Ask for no cream. I still don't understand why it has cream sauce (not Alfredo) per waiter.

We live down the street and have loved coming to Pizza Mercato in Emeryville ever since they opened! The food is always incredible!!! It tastes and feels so authentic, but the space itself has a fresh, modern aesthetic that makes it feel welcoming and cool without being over the top.
We always come back for the carbonara (Soo good), the Quattro pizza, and my husband is obsessed with the meatballs. Everything is made with care and full of flavor. The staff are always friendly and professional in a really chill, approachable way.
My only tiny wish is for a few more non-alcoholic drink options, but honestly, that’s just me being picky. This place is a gem and we’re so lucky it’s in our neighborhood! 🫶

Loved the wine (pinot noir + valochila) + lemoncello cake. The maradonna pizza was ok (thin, cheesy but missing some omph). Came for happy hour. Will return. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Light-filled and lots of menu choices.

If you are in the Emeryville area, Mercato Pizzeria at the Market Place is an absolute must-visit! From start to finish, this place delivers an unforgettable dining experience. For appetizers, we started with the chicken wings and garlic flatbread. The wings were incredibly flavorful and juicy, with the perfect balance of seasoning that left me wanting more. The garlic flatbread was just heavenly—crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, with a wonderful blend of garlic and herbs that made it utterly addictive.
For the main course, we ordered both the margarita pizza and the pepperoni pizza, and they did not disappoint. The margarita pizza had a wonderfully tangy tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and a perfectly crisp crust that was both light and satisfying. The pepperoni pizza was equally impressive—loaded with perfectly spiced pepperoni and the right amount of cheese, with a nice balance of flavors in every bite. The crust on both pizzas was just the right amount of chewy, with a slight crispiness that added an extra layer of texture.
What really made the experience stand out was the staff. They were incredibly friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a casual yet delicious meal.
I highly recommend Mercato Pizzeria to anyone looking for great pizza and outstanding service. It’s definitely a five-star experience!

Pretty pathetic that in this day and age that an Italian restaurant doesn’t offer gluten free options.
Plus lousy service.
