Buona Forchetta - Encinitas

We're locals and have been going to Buona Forchetta for years. It's one of a few select Italian restaurants in the area. On this night, we had Cioppino and Mediterranean salmon, paired with a Montepulciano and Super Tuscan. Our server, Francesco, knew the menu very well and had a great personality. New GM, Andrea stopped by the table to check in on our experience. This is not a “fancy” place per se but it's an authentic high quality food and slipper service place.

My son and I had a wonderful birthday celebration for him at Buona Forchetta in Encinitas. The food and service were fabulous. We always enjoying coming here for meals because the experience is consistently great. It is one of our favorite restaurants and we highly recommend it.

Wonderful service, great food as always. Ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana and the Cioppino (daily special). They were both delicious and came out piping hot. Always reliable for a good meal.

Had read reviews and wanted to try the restaurant. Pizza was great. We had three different pizzas and all were great. We also ordered salad and wanted a Caesar but it wasn't on the menu. No romaine lettuce. But the beet salad was excellent. We will return.

Delicious! Friendly service, fresh delicious ingredients. Excellent wine selection, wonderful menu, ambiance and charm. A delightful dining experiment every time.

The restaurant was small and cozy. The food and service was decent, but my pasta carbonara was served on a 10” dinner plate, instead of a pasta bowl/plate, with sauce almost flowing off the edge. I added shrimp to my dish, and they seemed to be just thrown on and were cold. The restaurant was not busy, so I cannot imagine they were out of pasta bowls. After a few bites, I noticed the pasta in the middle had already clumped together with the sauce, so I'm assuming I got someone's mistake.

We love coming to Buona Forchetta for the delicious food, nice staff, and consistent satisfaction of an enjoyable experience.

I've always LOVED this place! The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The space is comfortable and the food is spectacular EVERY SINGLE TIME!

I have Celiac disease so I was elated when the server checked with Chef and offered to make boil new water for my gf pasta so that I could eat it. I cannot thank you all enough!!

One of our favourite spots for Italian but sad that this time when we visited we weren't notified of changes about the bread no longer being a starter. We got all our food and needed bread to enjoy our meal with. They wanted to sell us the focaccia bread which is fine. Did not mention how long it would take and arrived after the meal.

Everything went so smoothly! Our food came out promptly and we were very happy with our service.

This is one of our absolute favorites in North County. Everything from start to finish is fantastic every time!

the best gluten free crust I have ever had - fluffy, tasted amazing, looked like glutinous crust. Excited to come back here next time I am in the area. Also our waiter Chris was great - so kind and helpful.

This place is OK. I've had much better chicken Parmesan in town, and make better myself. Way overpriced. It is a lively place and has a great atmosphere so that's good but I can't say I'll be coming back.

Great food that is consistently good. The portions are generous. Only downside is uncomfortable seating and tables very close together.
