Pros: Food is delicious, the staff very friendly, and the atmosphere very nice. Great place to watch people, dogs, and cars. Cons: At busy times while you wait for a table, there isn't anywhere to sit, and once you're seated the food can take a LONG time (up to an hour) to arrive.

We come to Encinitas, California for our annual family dog beach trip and have come to the Encinitas Cafe for breakfast at least once each time. The outdoor seating for our pup is wonderful, and she loves getting scrambled eggs to have with her kibble. The food is always delicious (try the oatcakes!), the servers are always delightful, making it the perfect place to set the tone for our day at the beach. Our party of seven was seated promptly in the back. Fun model cars surrounded our table. I had chorizo and eggs. The serving was huge and fresh off the griddle. Fresh salsa and tortillas rounded out my plate.
The pancakes were rich and fluffy.

Not chic, but great comfort food.
