I highly suggest not trying Enzo's in Encinitas. The portions are small for what your paying & I've had much better pork sandwiches, coleslaw & beans. Everything on the menu is over priced. We won't be going back!

Very small portion size. If you compare to Phil's or Brett's, it's like 1/4 of the portion size. I think the pulled pork portion from Enzo's was like 4 ounces

I just had the worst experience there tonight with the creepiest manager I've ever experienced.
I came into Enzos after a hike w my dog to grab some to go food and a beer while we waited. No one was at the bar, entire restaurant had one table in the big giant empty placed. 5:30 Saturday night, I couldn't figure out why this place was dead. Bartender was real nice gave me two recommendations and poured samples, 2 other servers came over to say hi to me and my dog, one showed my pics of their dog. Not getting in the way or neglecting their customers, because they had zero, pace was dead, and I was about to find out why it was a ghost town. As I'm trying one of my samples and asking the bartender about the beer, I get a really creepy feeling like someone is standing behind me. Sure enough, I turn around and some dude is standing there for god only knows how long mocking me with his hands out like he's witnessed an atrocious situation right before him. He then proceeds to ask me an illegal question about my dog being a service dog or not. There's only 2 legal questions in CA you can ask(Google is free, we're on it, if you manage a restaurant I suggest you learn these). He then proceeds to tell me I need to leave right away or get on the patio in a split second. Before I can finish my conversations, try my samples, or order any food. I couldn't believe what jerk this guy was being. I'll never go to that Enzos or any Enzos ever again knowing they put clowns like that in charge. He was so rude, unprofessional, went out of his was to embarrass me, and in no way should have any type of management title, especially in customers service. He bragged about being the manager of Le Papagayo for 12 years, Le Papagayo congratulations for getting rid of that creep. Enzos, do better. No wonder that giant sports bar was empty when your hiring horrible people like that clown.

The BBQ was okay, but nothing special. The place has potential, but the food didn’t quite live up to the hype. The flavors were a bit underwhelming and the portions didn’t feel worth the price. The staff was friendly, though, and the location is convenient. Overall, not terrible — just not something I’d go out of my way for.
First time eating at Enzo's, and unfortunately it wasn’t a good experience.
When we walked in, no one was at the counter, so we waited as the sign instructed. A server saw us and said someone would be right with us, but we continued waiting — even though the restaurant wasn’t busy and there were plenty of open tables. We waited long enough that another group who came in after us ended up going to look for a hostess themselves.
Eventually, two people came out and seated us. Our server took our order, and the food came out quickly, but the quality wasn’t great. I ordered the mushroom burger, which was greasy, and my daughter’s pasta was bland.
We gave it a try, but between the lack of service and the disappointing food, we won’t be returning.

Owner is awesome and you cannot beat the spicy grilled chicken sandwich. It’s my go to and my son loves the burgers. The double smash burger is also legit.

They are new, about 6 months or so, good BBQ and the Italian is pretty good. But I'm spoiled by Firenze.
Great for sports, lots of TV's.

Just a decent/average BBQ option in Encinitas... Quality okay all around, they were slammed for the Grand Opening when I went, so hopefully the quality will go up moving forward.

My first time into Enzo’s and we had a really nice experience. Andy our waiter was awesome. He had super friendly and positive energy from the jump. I tried the short rib pasta, and it was spot on. It’s a little pricey, but other than that, it was a great meal.

The absolute worst sauce I’ve ever tried and the worst manager on duty Labor Day evening. We ordered the burnt ends platter that wasn’t edible all fatty and gross. We also ordered the brisket platter we had beans and salad w the brisket platter, and cornbread and salad w burnt ends we didn’t eat any of it and we were charged for salad since she said they were sides, they weren’t they came w dinner, also we didn’t eat the salads only a few bites because server didn’t know that salad is served before dinner so we had to ask for them , we took a few bites and our dinner came. The manager was so unprofessional and rude and charged for salads rather than take care of the bill, because the food was awful and we didn’t even eat our salads. Very condescending and smart alec, and told us at the end when we questioned her about charging for salads that we clearly did not eat no chance, and that came w meal why she was charging us , she spoke down to us claiming the salads were sides and we ate them I said really and showed her that we didn’t and she continued to talk down to us and said she’d be waiting for the call from us tomorrow and said she’d looked forward to it.

Food was cold, but otherwise decent. Mac and cheese could use an upgrade but I come from a culture where Mac n Cheese is the life of every bbq. This could get there, with some tweaking. Cornbread was cake like, which was new to me, and I liked it. We ordered the American Feast (I think that’s what it’s called) so we got to sample a variety of entrees. The sides were misleading jn that we expect beans and coleslaw to come with it. Overall not bad. I might go back.

After coming here for two barbecue dinners that I didn't enjoy (burnt ends fatty, sliders not so good), I tried their Italian menu. I had Chicken Parmesan (great choice the waiter said). The chicken was a good size portion, but pretty bland and tough. The penne pasta with it (light cream sauce) tasted like mac and cheese. The service was not so good as they never offered grated cheese and gave me a take out box that was too small for what I had.
We've been here a couple of times and the service and food have been great. I like the Lazy Chicken and being able to buy a single Kobe beef rib and my wife likes the Pulled Pork and Brisket.
They have quite a selection of beers especially blondes.
The last time we went we sat in the outside area which was nice and open and was very relaxing.
It’s great to have a BBQ spot like this in Encinitas again, especially one that gets the little things right. Definitely a place we’ll keep coming back to.

Worst ribs ever. Over cooked and hard to chew. Disgusting. Thanks for ruining our 4th of July, Enzo!
