Stumbled upon this gem in Encinitas today. Had the pleasure of enjoying a couple of their slices of pizza. Will definitely be coming back to try the other combinations.

I was a bit surprised when I went in I was thinking its another Angelo's type. I was interested to see their pizza being so used to getting the round kind. Tried one and enjoyed it so I got 2 more different flavors ofcourse and it sure delight my senses. The people there are great very courteous and patient. I am a bit big so inside table chairs are tight. Outside chairs were perfect. I plan to go back and try more flavors. Yummy.

Since I sent then a message on the website and I am not sure it was received, I will post here:

On a Friday Nov 1st, I noticed some concerning signs of neglect at the GP Dinner. Around 6 pm, my wife and I walked over to the taco stand, where a homeless person was sitting at one of the outside tables on Encinitas Blvd, eating his own meal. He had a strong, unpleasant odor. About an hour later, when we stopped for gelato, the trash he left on the table was still there.

Inside, after I was served ice cream, I handed it to my wife, who had taken a seat at the last table near the restroom. As I turned to pay, another homeless person, a woman with a similar odor, sat down across from my wife at the same table. My initial instinct was to ask her to leave, as the table was taken, but I decided not to, as we wouldn’t want to sit there after she had. We ended up eating our gelato outside, between the two shops near the tables.

As we ate, I noticed that none of the employees seemed to care about the homeless woman. I kept an eye on her, wondering if she might try to touch the ice cream buckets, but she left just before we finished. I am genuinely concerned about the degradation I witnessed, potential health issues, and the apparent lack of attention from the employees.

It's a great local spot to stop in and get some authentic Italian food. The diner has been remodeled but I haven't tried in yet

There's always a great selection of pizza, with unique ideas and fresh ingredients, Great combinations. For some reason I remember their slices being smaller this last time they were bigger this is always a pleasant surprise. BC usually it's the other way around.

Vegetarian options: If you're okay with your pizza might be cooked next to something with me but they have good vegetarian options, BC sometimes I don't feel like eating meat

Wheelchair accessibility: I believe it's wheelchair accessible throughout the facility but I am not an expert The interior is rather small, and sometimes it gets pretty crowded.

I loved the pizzas here!! Sadly I only had room for one type - sausage and mushroom. I love that they reheat so it’s perfectly warm and crispy. They have plenty, plenty of seating throughout the establishment (where they also sell gelato!!). Check this place out if you’re in the area and craving some pizza ?

Vegetarian options: Review the ingredients to confirm they’re veg

Parking: There are parking garages that are free for the first hour

GP Diner is a fantastic spot for a quick bite of delicious Roman-style pizza and gelato. They have many pizza options with different toppings (my favorite is the BBQ), and the gelatos are smooth and creamy. It's a great place for a fast meal, though it can get busy depending on the time/day. Even if there's a wait, the excellent food and friendly service make it worth your time.

Great selections of pizzas, beautifully displayed, and cooked to order.
They recently changed their menu options, making it more focused towards pizza, no burgers anymore.
They have a few seating areas, one in the same building as the pizzas, right across from the Gelato selections, the covered corridor between the front and back small building, and in the back building. The corridor had great air flow for a nice breeze.
Staff were very pleasant, we had a new gal in training there the day we went -super sweet gal.
They have parking on the street and a small lot right behind the building.
Easy to get to, easy to find, great people watching spot.
