Great local Mexican food restaurant. Has a sign saying they're closing soon, been open since 1981! So get there before it's gone! They have a La Gringa quesadilla that is fabulous. Definitely recommend for a family lunch!

Karina’s tacos are OUTSTANDING! We just had carne asada, al pastor, chicken, shrimp, and fish and each of them were HUGE, stuffed with fresh toppings, and delicious!The service was friendly and they got our large order just right. The inside is pretty simple but it’s on a cool street with lots of interesting shops nearby. We’ll definitelymake this a regular stop. ?

Best Carnitas (pictured) in San Diego IMHO! The atmoshpere reminds me of taco shops South of the border. There is seating for 12 outside, 12 inside and 6 on the rear deck. I've always received great service here too as the staff brings your food out to you when its ready (at least when it's not super busy). Great salsa as well!
Parking: There is a 3-mile long dirt parking lot that runs throughout most of Encinitas to the East around Coast Highway, all the way from F street through La Costa Avenue, however it is difficult to find parking there during peak beach-going hours on good-weather-tourist-season-days.

I dream of Mexican food like this!!!We had an assortment of food, guacamole was the best I have ever had, Shredded chicken burrito was stuffed with chicken and not with anything else, perfect ? shrimp tacos were awesome and we live in the FL Keys, s that’s saying something…go!!!!

I cannot overstate how many breakfast burritos I’ve had in my life or how incredibly exception the ones here are.
Our bartender at Duck Foot recommended Karina’s, so I walked over to order takeout California burritos, then upgraded one to the Bomb burrito when I saw the menu. It was huge but definitely worth it for the added taquito crunch inside! Super friendly staff, quick service, delicious food. Through no fault of their own, their indoor dining area became an intolerable echo chamber because a toddler was shrieking at the top of his lungs at one of the tables. My ear is still ringing next day. Thankfully there were a couple nice outdoor tables as well.

We ordered the ceviche tostada's to take with us to the beach and they did not disappoint. They gave us two large to-go containers of shrimp ceviche with Xtra sides of tostadas, plates, forks and napkins. We got to the beach set up and relaxed with our ceviche in hand. It was delicious and we highly recommend this adorable little spot in Encinitas. The burritos and tacos looked amazing as well. #ceviche #karinastacos #encinitas #fivestars
