We love our dinners at Valentina! The gambas and artichoke are a particular favorite but everything is delicious!
Love this place. Excellent tapas-style food and they mix up the menu really well. One of our favorites.
I love this place. It's a success every time. Not sure of our waitresses name, but she was a gem, everybody in that place is a gem, starting with the hostess (who remembered me) whom is also a gem.
As always, completely enjoyed our dinner at Valentina. We love our neighborhood spot. Do not miss the artichokes and Sea Bass.
Service was super and food and seating very good. It is very loud, hard to have a normal conversation, due to the choice of all hard surface material which do not absorb noise. Which is the trend in recent restaurants.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Valentina! David was an excellent server. He answered all our questions, made recommendations, let us sample wines, and was very knowledgeable and attentive. The food was marvelous! We relished the garlic shrimp and delicious peppers! And the sea bass was awesome. It was a bit noisy but we were able to talk over it. Not cheap, but worth the price. We will go back for a special occasion!
My favorite restaurant in Encinitas- fantastic service, great food, and a fun environment. I’ve taken many peopl of all ages here and they’ve all loved it.

Loved the ambiance, service and casual vibe but were underwhelmed by the food. The smashed artichokes, patatas bravas and steak tiradito were creative and really good, the bread was warm and crusty but everything else we had was not great despite beautiful presentation including the tough octopus with extremely undercooked white beans, the flavorless gambas en ajillo, a meh seabass entree and incredibly salty croquetas. Conversely the butter with the bread had no salt or flavor at all. Two other issues - extremely limited parking and proximity to the train that roared through 4x and street noises including jarring motorcycles. I really wanted to like it more. Maybe it was just an off day in the kitchen or the food came out so quickly it didn't have enough time to marinate.
I am giving my review with 5 stars - as Kimmy our server cleaned up the mess from the Welcome Crew. The first impressions of this place was not good due to the negative reception we received upon arrival. Once seated - we were angry - but Kimmy showed up and changed the whole dinner experience for us. She was lovely, knowledgeable and a wonderful treat. Food was so wonderful! Everything from wine to dessert! We made these reservations to enjoy my Friend's 57th birthday! Kimmy made it memorable and fun!
Went for my bday with a group. Very accommodating. The ambiance was wonderful, the staff courteous and kind. The food was excellent! The steak and paella were divine!

I really like Valentina. The food is wonderful, interesting, and delicious. However, this is 4th time I have been to Valentina in last 7 months, but the servers always seem to be in the weeds - they seem to be understaffed every time. It took about 15 minutes to get water and even talk to the server. When we asked for water (which they provide in blue wine bottles for the table), it would take multiple requests to get full water bottles. I have to say, the server was friendly and warm when we had her attention, but she did not have time for all of her tables.
Great tapas and entrees (basque cake for dessert was amazing!) Street and train noise was a little much, but not horrible. Unique and fun date night spot !
