At first entry, we thought, WOW! This is gonna be great!! The service at the counters was awesome!!
However, we made SPECIFIC requests regarding our meal. My wife does not like runny egg whites (over-medium, with a specific request for egg whites to be cooked through should suffice, hell, I can do this easily at home, 400 miles away). They were more than runny!!
Personally, I am less picky. I like my eggs ‘fried’ or ‘sunny side up’. I KNOW this can mean the whites are under cooked… Mine were COLD…
Lastly, in a community that seems to be ‘in the know’, why are we served (at a restaurant that is busy), on paper plates and given a foil and plastic bag for our leftovers.
This place has lost all passion for food and the environment!!

Went to Pipe's on a family recommendation and wasn't disappointed. Great food and service. Portions are big and we probably could have shared 2 dishes between three people. Nice to sit outside in the sun and eat whilst watching the world go by.
One of my favorite places in all of San Diego. Not continental dining or anything like that but excellent burgers, french toast, breakfasts, and very good coffee along with long lines and waits. A je ne sais quoi vibe.

Love, love, love this place. Pipes has been a staple in North County for 30 years and I have been coming for many of those years. I love the people, the location and of course, the food. There is nothing on the menu I couldn't recommend. My bf is completely hooked and begs to go there all the time. Pipes potatoes? The best! Highly recommend!!!!
