The pizza Birria was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten and the one of a kind Michelada’s are truly phenomenal and unique. The Latin American amalgamation with contemporary atmosphere has a perfect balance of an open, tasteful, yet festive experience. I will 100% be going back.

Very nicely decorated clean restaurant with great food. On Sunday evening, it was not busy. We had the place to ourselves. They’d been open a couple of months. The ceviche was out of this world! We ordered 4 dishes and split them among us, to get a taste of the quality of the food. All were great! They were the ceviche, pizza birria, tres tacos and enchiladas mole. The drinks were good, too, and not watered down, like you get in some restaurants these days.
Our friends thought it was the best Mexican food they’ve ever eaten. The owners have 5 restaurants in Mexico City and this is their first in the US.
Our only complaint was the loud volume of music. We asked them to turn it down several times. Finally they did, but they didn’t understand that we actually wanted to talk! It seems that restaurant owners want us to believe that we’re having a better time screaming above the loud music, rather than enjoying their food and talking to each other in a quiet atmosphere.
Parking is a cinch in a large free lot. We will definitely go back, and we are spreading the word about the great quality of their food.

Food was excellent. Service was friendly but they seemed a bit confused. It took a while for someone to take our order and then different people kept coming to the table to ask if we ordered. They hadn't been open for long so I give them a pass. Music was a bit too loud for my taste.

I visited on a Thursday night and had an amazing experience. The food featured authentic Mexican flavors, and I highly recommend trying the micheladas. The service was excellent; Alex and the staff were both kind and attentive.
I will definitely be returning to Puntamar.

My fiancé and I recently visited Puntamar in Encinitas for a date night after spotting them on Instagram, and we were thoroughly impressed.
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere, food, and service exceeded our expectations. Our waiter, Zaul, was exceptional—personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. He guided us through the menu with great suggestions and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience.
We started with the Machu Picchus Ceviche and the Verde Aguachilles, both of which were outstanding. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the flavors were simply unbelievable. The presentation was picturesque and added to the overall experience.
We also had the Flan The flavor was rich and balanced, perfectly sweet without being overwhelming.
We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Alejandro, who was a delight to talk to.
Puntamar offers late-night dining and boasts an impressive drink menu, making it a perfect spot for any occasion.
If you’re looking for great food, excellent service, and a fun atmosphere, Puntamar is a must-visit. It’s definitely going to be a regular dining spot for us from now on!
