Loved this place! We came for happy hour and they had delicious drinks and appetizers. The brussel sprouts and falafel are a must get!!

It was fun but the live music wasn't very good. Food and drinks were good. I'd definitely go back depending on the music.

I had my first Roxy felafel burger over 20 years ago and they are something I crave from time to time. My wife and I went last night (Tuesday) on a just such a craving. While the food and service were both good, the atmosphere was not. There was a two-man band playing cover songs and the acoustics inside made it very difficult to hear the band, our waiter, and each other. The band did not engage with the audience at all, simply rolled from one cover into the next, which was sad.

There was also an additional charge on the menu for "live music and food market volatility". With mains on the menu at $38 each, I find this add on charge a bit over the top. I suggest rethinking the type of music from rock to something more suited for the venue / acoustics...

The Roxy exploits the musicians it hires with subpar pay. A lot of the musicians there mostly play for “exposure” or for a pathetic amount of less than $250 for 3 sets for a full band. I can’t support a venue in an affluent california beach town that pays its musicians poorly. The Roxy can easily afford to pay its bands more.

Last night, my friends and I went to Roxy for dinner to celebrate a birthday, and unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience with our server, Andrew OG. He took a long time to take our order, and throughout the evening, we could hardly find him when we needed to ask for anything. When he finally did come over, he seemed to have an attitude and acted like he didn’t want to be there. He was short with his words and didn’t respond when one of our friends asked about the cost of a bottle.

I’ve dined at Roxy many times and have always had good service, so this was surprising. I understand that gratuity is automatically added for large parties, but it felt like the server didn’t put any effort into earning his tip. It seemed like he knew he was getting a good tip regardless and didn’t care to provide great service.

We were told that the bill would be split four ways, but when it came time to pay, we were given one single bill. Andrew was nowhere to be found when we tried to ask about it. We didn’t mind the gratuity; we just wanted the bill split as promised. The birthday girl had to speak to the manager to finally get the issue resolved. The server returned with the split checks but didn’t offer any apology for the confusion or the poor service.

We spent over $700 and were really disappointed with the experience. It was not what we expected, especially for a special occasion.

Fun, relaxed vibe. Live music was one guy with a guitar, great voice, playing songs we know and love. Drinks were delish. Friday evening crowd grew around us quickly so the service slowed down but they were hustling. I'll definitely go back when I'm in Encinitas.

So BIG DIFFERENCE IN dine in and take out! Great place but my take out order today was disappointing to say the least!! I usually get pastrami sand and wine, today I needed to order sand togo, and barley any meat... But the service is always on point! JENNIFER?

I’ve been coming to Roxy since the early 80’s when I was a kid so I have a long standing love for this place, but it needs to be known their falafel is HANDS DOWN the best you will have. Nowhere can top it. Went with my bestie for brunch/lunch and we shared the falafel as an app. She got the charred Caesar salad and I got the avocado toast. Charred Caesar is excellent, the flavor of the little bit of char with their homemade dressing is soooo good! Avocado toast is fun with the addition of burrata giving it a bit of extra creaminess combined with the egg. We had a glass of their pino noir, also good. I enjoy the lively atmosphere and live music but there is an outside patio if you want it a bit quieter. Definitely recommend and of course, will be back!
