We have been dining here for many years. The food was always excellent. Yesterday it was only so so. It was as if a new owner had taken over and had a very limited understanding of sushi because previously the food was always at least a 9 out of 10. Yesterday it was a 3 to 5.
Is there a new owner?
This is a special place for a nice relaxing summer down meal with family and friends. A unique menu of Japanese and Italian food with fresh seafood. Standard dining experience or teppanyaki, which is a fun show. I have been going for teppanyaki for my birthday once a year. And beautiful view of the Humboldt Bay and the docks, see the wildlife.
The waitress was not friendly and made you feel as if you were burdening her if you asked for salt. I tipped accordingly. The food is mediocre to b minus and expensive considering the quality.
