While most restaurants in Humboldt lack finesse and the casual assumption of 'foodie'ness of the Bay Area, this one has a deft kitchen, comfortable and friendly atmosphere, and generous in good ways. Plus a sunset view on those rare clear evenings from the wine bar. And it's NOT in the Bay Area--an excellent choice for homies and visitors. Vegan/vegetarian specials too.

Had an amazing dinner with wonderful community friends. One of the specials was Grilled Salmon with Lump Crab over Rizzoto...OMG absolutely delicious! All of the meals at the table looked really good! Everyone was very friendly & patient with our big group. Will definitely come back!

Filet Mignon was a little over done, but the prawns. The prawns were seasoned fantastic and cooked to perfection.

Fabulous place for a special occasion. Everything was delicious. So fortunate to be there during mushroom season! The chanterelle soup and tower with wontons were amazing. Pistachio cake from the chef's grandma's recipe for dessert. Both the halibut and filet mignon specials were cooked perfectly. I love this place!

This is truly a gem and Eureka is lucky to have the Humboldt Bay Bistro and chef Brett. If you try only one thing have the crab cakes. My wife and I look for crab cakes everywhere we go and this is at the top of our list! But don't stop there! You just got to try everything from appetizers, entrees and the best desserts. Also, it's quite the place to visit in a converted home. So warm and friendly. You got to go!

The staff was all super nice. The location is near the water. I ate the fish and chips - sorry but it totally missed the mark.

We were here with a large group for a 65th wedding anniversary. It’s a nice place to eat. The service was good and the food was fine. It’s a converted house a little bit north of the old town area not far from the library.
