Friendly & helpful employees. Delicious chopped brisket sandwich (we added crispy onions) & baked beans. Several flavorful BBQ sauces to choose from with great descriptions to help you decide - ultimately ended up purchasing a bottle of their "Georgia" sauce to bring back home with us.

Wishing I had read the reviews before I stopped by here and wasted my money for a meal I couldn't even stomach. The chicken was dry, burnt, and cold. The mac and cheese was one big clump of noodle and was also very obviously just Velveeta that had been sitting under a heatlamp all day. The cornbread was dry, mealy, and not at all fresh. I took a bite or two of each thing and threw the rest away.I can only hope the owner has no idea about all the corners being cut in their restaurant because every single item was disgusting, dry leftovers, CLEARLY not freshly made at all and clearly reheated a few times prior.

I ordered the sliced brisket. It had an excellent smoked flavor that flaked effortlessly to my fork. The meat was moist, tender and flavorful. The plentiful sides were tasty enough to satisfy the diverse tastes of both my wife and I. I recommend the vinegar slaw. This small mom and pop shop is a gem of a bbq restaurant that you must try.

This was our first visit to Humboldt Smokehouse and we enjoyed it. I had a pulled chicken sandwich and my husband had a 2 meat plate with brisket and pulled pork. My sandwich had a lot of chicken on it and the crispy onions added a nice crunch. The smokey cream cheese was good too. My husband said both meats were very good. They were out of many sides so he had cole slaw and beans. The slaw was pretty standard and the beans were a little sweeter than I prefer. We both liked the spicy KC BBQ sauce.

Got the pulled pork and saw the face of God. It was the most perfectly-textured meat I’ve ever eaten. They’ve got a variety of homemade sauces as well; I tried a bit of each and every one was totally unique and delicious.

This is not real BBQ. This meat is “smoked” (actually baked) on a pellet grill. My wife picked up a pound of brisket and it didn’t smell smoked at all (or smell good, for that matter) barely a hint of smoke noticeable, even when I stuck my nose right in it and took a deep whiff. I had to call the restaurant and ask them if it was smoked or baked, they notified me it was smoked on a pellet grill.Real BBQ is noticeably smokey in smell and flavor. I hope the owners upgrade to making real BBQ someday, Humboldt could sure use it.

We walked in and ordered takeout for a family of 6. We got several items to try, despite the scowling employee at the register. We took everything back to the hotel, only to find that a couple of things were missing. Oh, well. Atleast the food made it back - she packed nearly $100 of food into a single flimsy grocery bag that was trying to break before we walked out the door. (We asked for a second bag immediately.) Food was good - not exceptional, but maybe those missing items would have put our opinion over the edge? My teens packed up the sauces (it was self-serve) and I'm not sure if they just didn't get everything, but only one (mustard-based) was anything memorable, and definitely not enough to offset meat that was a little dry.

Food was ok...however…We got delivery, and they forgot the sauces, which are the main source of flavor. I called and they said, “Well the sauces were free anyways, sooo…” So, tough luck? Enjoy your bland food? “Next time you come in you can have all the sauce you want.” We don’t live here. Cool. If I owned this business I’d be ashamed of this service. I don’t think they are a one-star restaurant, but since I was basically told to F off, this is my only recourse by bringing down their average. In the spirit of your employee, “The reviews are free, soooo…”

Stopped in here and were glad we did. Great BBQ and sauces in what looks like a local family place.

This is gonna sound weird, but have the burrito. Not what I would normally expect at a bbq joint, but the burrito is the right choice.
