I was a bit concerned by the outside appearance and area of town but the staff were friendly and welcoming and gave good service. My room was clean and seemed to have been updated. Mattress was comfortable. It was quiet.

The lady at the front desk was very informative of the area and had it if good pointers on food as well. She said she was from Michigan and I can believe it with her charming personality. The rooms were clean and the showers were sparking . We will stay there again if we are in town.

We stayed one night with our two adult children while on a road trip. We reserved a family suite which worked out very well for us. The room and bath were clean and comfortable. My only negative for this accommodation was its location on the lower level at the end of the building. During the night, there were people outside along the street talking loudly enough to wake me up. If you don't need the family suite, I suggest a room closer to the middle of the property, maybe even an upper floor. When checking in we asked about a place to eat (we always ask where the locals eat). Robert directed us to Jack's Seafood and we were not disappointed.

I was shocked when we pulled into this 'hotel' - it was in a very poor area. We had to walk half a mile up the road to get an evening meal at a diner called Gallagher's (the food was fine there) but we did encounter people begging on the way. I would not want to walk around there at night on my own. The rooms were large but dark and needed a full refurbishment. Our toilet didn't flush properly and we had to have a man up to fix it. It remained a bit hit and miss but mercifully we were only there one night. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was fine. Breakfast was weird. We had to sit behind a large screen in a sectioned off area. It was a bit strange all round. The photos provided look nothing like the reality ! Would I stay there again ? Never in a month of Sundays.

The front desk staff are knowledgeable and most helpful! Robert even assisted me finding another location for the next leg of my trip. The rooms are clean comfortable and quiet. The hotel is clean and easy accessible. Parking is ample.

Ruben was the reason I enjoyed my stay, for the most part. I was here because I was displaced due to the earthquake. I think Ruben and Tim were the best employees. I like them the best, as far as having a good blend of professionalism and friendliness. They both have complementary personalities.

This hotel should not be rated highly. It is old, dated, in need of upgrading. Old carpets throughout - not clean. My room smelled very musty. NO BREAKFAST even though some reviewers indicated there was a breakfast as part of the overnight service. The people working were nice and friendly, no complaint about them. Should be rated about a 5 out of 10.

Our room was very nice... Our electricity in the bathroom wasn't working and neither were the phone chargers... We had a dog 2 doors down that howled the whole time we were there... We were very unhappy about that and reported it more than once... You staff did their best to solve the problem with no sucess.... You staff was very helpful for the most part other than the dog... Rebekha was very helpful... Our bank had locked our card and she helped us with that...

It's tired and worn but clean. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Our tour group stayed here over night and had dinner and breakfast. Supposedly, they lost their cook after 20 years and had new people in the kitchen. My steak was actually good, but the fish was cooked to death and hard. Breakfast was a little better, more of a self serve buffet for the majority of items, except they brought out your plate of food, which was OK. I asked for eggs over well and the yolks were still loose. Not the end of the world, I realize. I wouldn't want to stay there for more than overnight.

Hello my name is Amy. I am taking over as cook for the Pacific bar and grill. I would love you imput. Is break fast lunch or dinner the most important to you my goal is to get this place into possibly a full day restuarant or private for banquets and brunches for ladies just wanting to get together. Surf and turf. ?? Homemade Alfredo night. Chick, or shrimp Veg. We could go for ever but for now let build back what like for most of us Covid had effected or is. Weather for loss or growth. It time to build up our small business in our small county. Please be patient but please please drop me a note or suggestion to the red lion. Addressed kitchen. Cook. Or Amy in kitchen. Thanx

I have been a frequent quest at this property over the past 3 decades and even though the rooms are adequate the property sadly is not. My previous stay in May, the elevator did not work and since I was on crutches , this was a major issue . There is no longer a restaurant at any time other than 4 days a week for breakfast . there in so longer a lounge , too bad , as this was one of the best lounges in the Eureka area ; NO LONGER. The staff is still excellent but they are sailing on a sinking ship . No Pool any longer . No Bar . No Food and now now help of you accidently left an item behind . They direct you to a cloud based , 3rd party platform that absolutely worthless. Come on Red Lion , you can do better ..

The service we experienced was really nice! The staff was friendly, rooms were nice and big. Wonderful breakfast and would recommend this place in eureka. It’s very close to the Redwood National Park! Nathan at the reception was humorous and kind.

My mother and I are new to the area and waiting for our move-in date. The staff at Red Lion has been more than hospitable. Robert and Dawn saw to it that we were put into a comfortable room (not just for our sakes, but the dogs as well). When they say dog friendly they mean- dogs aren’t just tolerated, they’re appreciated. Overall: excellent service and accommodations with a staff to match.

We stayed at the Red Lion for 2 nights and had a great experience! Dawn and Nathan at the front desk were awesome and did a great job helping us and answering all our questions. Would definitely stay here again and recommended to others.

Heat and AC come from a wall unit. Two sinks in the bathroom is a plus. Our hiking group had a private room for dining and meetings. Dinner meals were varied and well prepared. Breakfast was the same each day with few options. Outdoor poll was not usable. Restaurants and downtown Eureka nearby and walkable. There are three floors and an elevator. Eureka's homeless population is nearby.
